Great hike, the beginning of the trail is super easy with the incline getting steeper for the second half of the route. For sure a beginners hike but great for anyone who enjoys a steady work out with a rewarding view :)

Decent hike but the payoff wasn't really great. Was quite busy and windy at the top but ok overall. Bring sunscreen, quite a bit of sun exposed stretches. My little dog enjoyed it!

Lovely views! A “harder” easy trail.

Pretty easy, liked that it was along the lake. Lots of spots to start, we got onto the trail at the boat launch area.

Cyclists said you couldnt do the 14 km loop yet without seeing snow however going up taking your first right there was no ice or snow in sight.

Easy quick hike with a pretty view. The trail is covered by trees for most of it, so the view is just at the top! Great for a quick outing!

Great first hike of the year, still too snowy to make it to the top of the mountain but we had a great time!

Easy walk with a beautiful view!

Starting at the parking lot for the Middle Lake trail, we kept right and then took a left onto Elk Flats, did the easy loop around Many Springs Trail, then walked along the Bow River Trail to Moraine to complete the 6.3km loop in about 2.5 hours. Mostly dry conditions for this relatively easy hike!

Did this hike May 13, 2018. Good conditions. Great pick for an early season half day hike which is always worth the views. We did the ascent on the Barrier Look our trail and was in good condition - 1 hr 15 mins. Descent down the Prairie View/Jewel Pass good condition but a few snowy spots - 3 hrs. Nothing which took away from a great half day capped off with a pic-nic over looking the lake. Busy with lots of families and dogs out (including ours!)

A great start of the season hike. The trails are mostly dry with only a very few muddy or snow patches. Very busy this May 13 with lots of families with kids and dogs out.

Quaite is a really nice day hike or camping trip depending on your plan. You can either start by parking on the highway at the mouth of quaite creek and hike roughly 2km in or park at the heart creek junction and hike about 5 km towards the quaitee camp. Without a doubt i'd consider it an easy hike but be aware of long stretches of time where you'll be walking on a slight incline which can kill your legs slowly. Other than that it's a nice day trip, or possible 2 day trip if you wish to use it to try and link up with barrier lake for a multi day backpacking adventure for beginners in multi day trips.

Went on Saturday May 5, still lots of snow in the last km to the top, bring poles and waterproof shoes. First 3km were nice condition though. Took us 1.5 hrs to go up with 2 kids and a dog, but also took us 1.5hrs to get down because of all the snow, very slippery.

Went today and thoroughly enjoyed this hike though poles and micro-spikes are still needed. Some loose rock/avalanche areas and icy steep parts. It took us about 2 hours up and about that back, but we were sliding quite a bit. Didn’t think we needed our micros-spikes so we only brought poles. Nice to have lunch at the top!!

I did the barrier lake forestry trails? Anyways, still quite a bit of snow in some spots and icy in some areas as well. A lot of mud and some snow up to my knees a bit deeper into the trails. Was an ok hike. The views are here and there peaking through the trees. Lots of picnic tables and areas to rest. My dog enjoyed it...he had to jump over a lot of downed trees

Trail had some gorgeous views but was very narrow so passing people was a bit of a pain as the snow to the sides of the trail was VERY deep. Once we arrived at the end of the trail the wind picked up and snow rolled in so we did not stay long.

It was a great hike but got a little turned around as the trail was still partially snow covered. Great for the kids and dogs. Beautiful scenery.

It was a awesome hike and the view was awesome!!!

A great winter hike route if you are short on time. I did this in 21/2hrs while stopping to take photos and appreciate the views. Right up to the fire lookout/helipad. Could be a good sunrise/sunset hike. Will do it again perhaps in the Fall and follow Jewell Pass this time to make it alittle longer.

Trail is well-worn but snow and ice covered for the majority. Crampons and/or hiking poles are ideal. Gradual incline throughout. Beautiful views of kananaskis valley and Nakiska ski hill, quite windy at the top.

Had a small amount of snow that had previously been packed down by others. This meant we didn't need snowshoes and just hiked up. Great view at the top, nice trail up the valley.

Nice trail through a forested area around the lake, but not very exciting. Good for a quick walk.

Combined with Bow River and Moraine Trail, all together a scenic 3 hour hike.

Really enjoyed this hike! Steady incline. Great views! Through forest for about an hour to the pass, then it opens up. At the pass, go left rather than right. Minimal scrambling up to a couple of peaks.

A nice and easy nature walk.. Going during the fall is lovely because you can really appreciate the contrast colours between the lake and trees.

In the trees for most of the hike, except the very beginning, but well worth the wait for wonderful views at the top. Pretty easy, steady incline with lots of flat spots. Mostly gravel, well groomed trail - good for all ages.
