Short and sweet hike with a super rewarding view at the end. The waterfall and creek are partially frozen since it's been a warm November. The snow and the sun melting the snow on the path (especially at the "steep terrain" signs) make it slippery and a little bit harder than expected (there were marks in the snow from of someone having slid off the edge today). I'd recommend proper footwear (someone did it in runners and he's regretting it) and if you're not too confident in your snow traversing skills, poles or grips.

Nice quick walk. A bit steep up but of course all down hill on the way back. Gorgeous view at the top!

Was my first official mountain hike, steep at the beginning - great work out for a beginner. Will be back - amazing views. Loved seeing my fav Mount Rundel.

11/15/20- first of all, the road isn’t closed. I liked how quiet this hike is. The moose meadows part had absolutely no one there which was great. The trail is wide so passing would be easy if others were there. The views are super minimal. Nothing special for most of the hike, but as always being out in nature is nice. You don’t really fee the incline and I found it quite easy. The ink pots were just ok. It was a nice spot to be out in nature but I would pick something else next time. There are comparable length/elevation in the lake minnewanka area that are more scenic and enjoyable than this hike.

Awesome hike. Went on a Thursday afternoon and it was very quiet. Lovely views, albeit windy at the top. Definitely wear spikes on your boots; I watched a couple more or less slide all the way back down haha. Definitely on the easier side of moderate.

Lake Louise is gorgeous! It can get very crowded due to the hotel — but you MUST hike around and in the back of the lake. That’s where the real magic is :-)

Such a cool hike! Not too strenuous and with the payoff of a tea house by the Victoria Glacier at the end! I made a video on YouTube of the hike, just search Maps With No Roads on YouTube if you want a look at what the trail is like.

Amazing hike yesterday ..the walk around lake is stunning and almost no other people all day. When you get to turn off to Aylmer Lookout,Big scary bear sign so carry spray and makes tons of noise. It’s steep and you’ll need micro spikes but so darn beautiful. We had it to ourselves..Just my dog and I .Breathtaking views, watching sunset on descent was amazing.along day 25.1km.So worth it

Great mid afternoon winter hike! You can leave Calgary at noon and still complete the trail before dark. It is a bit steep at the beginning, but the switchbacks gradually get longer. Lots of beautiful viewpoints along the way! With current conditions, a good pair of hiking boots or winter boots will suffice. Great little hike that still makes you feel like you accomplished something!

Did it on a fresh snow covered morning… The trail is uphill most of the way to the lookout the good thing is it’s downhill on your way back

Hiking through the forest with only the sounds of your feet on the snow. it doesn't get better than that in the winter. The trail has several downed trees that you have to either step over or around. A moderate amount of elevation gained until the descent to the meadow where the ink pots are. Beautiful views with the sound of running streams await.

The road to parking lot is open. We had beautiful weather. Trail from parking lot to where it joins Johnson Creek is snowy, passable but not as packed as rest of trail. Ink pots never disappoint!

Fantastic!! So worth the walk, it is windy at the top but safe all the way up and the views are so worth it! I actually walked this in heels because my hiking boots gave me blisters and I did it just fine!
