Description

The Chapada Diamantina National Park has great ecological and environmental diversity in its territory, covering three Brazilian biomes: Atlantic Forest, Cerrado and Caatinga. The Park is part of the Caatinga and Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserves (RB). The National Park is an excellent option for hiking, mountain biking, river bathing, climbing and canoeing close to nature. There are almost 300 km of trails that traverse rupestrian fields, savannah and Atlantic forest amid breathtaking landscapes. The National Park can be accessed by the municipalities of Andaraí, Ibicoara, Itaetê, Lençóis, Mucugê and Palmeiras, through 38 entrance trails . The administrative headquarters of the National Park is in the city of Palmeiras. There are no institutional structures to support visitation within the National Park, such as guardhouses or a visitor center, so there is no entrance fee.
