Use the road from Mayrhofen to the Schlegeisspeicher. You need to pay 12,50 toll to enter the Mautstrasse. At the end of the road there is a parking lot. From there you follow the signs to the Olpererhütte and then up to Friesenbergsee. It’s uphill and very rocky, so definitely a leg burn. The views of the reservoir and surrounding Alps are fantastic throughout the hike. 1.5-2 hours to the summit. Show more

Nice view of mountains and waterfall. All but 1.5 mile are paved, but the hut, built in 1898, is lovely. The hut views are worth a nice day with good visibility.Show more
