Hohe Tauern National Park is located on the Central Eastern Alps and forms the southern border of the Austrian states of Salzburg, Carinthia and East Tyrol. The park is home to Austria's tallest mountain, Glossglockner, which sits at 3,798m above sea level. There are many glaciers within the park's borders. Hohe Tauern is also home to numerous wildlife species, including the chamois, Alpine ibex, red deer, griffon vulture, and the golden eagle.
