A nice steady walk quite popular but can get busy on the weekends or school holidays. A great walk for the whole family nothing to taxing or dangerous. Great views at the top.

I loved it and treated a girlfriend to the walk for her 40th Bday. But we both had moments of real fear. I think it would be prudent to point out there have been a number of deaths and many air-lifted rescues annually because the rock climbing elements are challenging, slippery and unforgiving with even the slightest mis-step. A small, regular day-pack on your back pulls you off balance on rock faces. Experienced, strong hikers would find this walk moderate. Because of this climbing/scrambling on the sheer face and safety aspect only, it should rated HARD not moderate when it is among “hike” suggestions. Preparation and knowledge is always key to making your personal choice about which hiking trails to do so you don’t become a casualty. Hope this helps.

Great for those who want to build up to the more challenging mountains. Can be challenging if you’re unfit but definitely doable. The path can be slippery and a little muddy just after rain and there are a few steep sections. Amazing views at the top but take care near the edges and keep watch of children.

Definitely for hikers with a lil rock climbing/scrambling experience. Has some small but easy rock climbing sections the walk its self is easy and has some great views! hardest part would be coming down the rock climbing parts. highly recommend.

Unfit and overweight but accomplished it. This is a steep trail with slippery sections but not too difficult for a novice The reward is the peak ❤️

Great walk to get you moving.

great walk needing no experience. We arrived at midday with a hungry 4 and 6 year old who eagerly and easily completed this walk which distracted them from eating

If it’s your first time up here then make sure it’s dry. I do not recommend even if had a light sprinkle of rain unless you are a confident climber / scrambler. Is gets slippery real quick.

Love this mountain! Easy to follow trail with a variety of track, steps and rocks to negotiate. Beautiful views of tibrogargan and other mountains at the top

One of my favourites in the glasshouse mountains. A great all body workout, you’ll need yours hands and feet equally so take a back pack for water / keys etc... beautiful for sunrise too.

The less popular of the glass house family but a lovely mountain with a nice peak at the top.

Nice walk/climb/scramble..not another person in sight.. Easy to miss the path hence be prepared and read up on how to get to the path. Instructions below

1. Park at the second Trachyte circuit carpark which is around 800 m further down the road from the main one (which is the car park for climbing mount tibrogargan)
2. Walk back onto the main road(Barrs road) and turn left and continue walking till u come across a T212 sign to your left. Take that path, its a 4WD road(watch out for any 4WD's) and go up to an intersection then take the road to your right and continue walking till u see a pile of stones to your left with a path THATS the path keep following it till you get to the top you will see more of these stone piles along the way which means you are on the correct path
3. Once you get to the top of the climb look to your left and you will see a path on the saddle which will take you to the base of the peak. (Its a bit rocky so take care of your ankles)
4. Once you get to the base of the peak it is just a short scramble to the top nothing too difficult.
5 Once on top enjoy great views especially of Mount Tibrogargan
6 Easy to get lost on the way down so either take pictures or keep those piles of stones in mind and follow those down. In the event you do get lost on the way down like I did just follow one of the 4WD paths back onto Barrs road and then look for mount Tibrogargan and walk towards it. Good opportunity to take postcard worthy photographs of tibrogargan :)

Would definitely recommend this one over Tibrogargan if you want to do a climb with less /no people or if you want to practice a bit of scrambling before tackling Tibrogargan/Beerwah.

All up this takes around 40 minutes if you only do the climb and not the circuit around the mountain.

Good luck and have fun this mountain is amazing.. would recommend also doing the Jack Ferris look out after/before this as that look out give you the best views of the peak of this mountain on the way there and amazing views of all the glass house mountains when you get to the lookout

loved it can't wait to go again. it's got several climbing bits but they're short with wide ledges so you don't ever really find yourself looking down into the abyss!

Awesome beginners hike for the whole family. Drop offs at the top, but suitable for kids who will follow directions. Carpark gets busy at sunrise and mornings on weekends.

Awesome challenge if you're not scared of heights and have some rock scrambling experience.

It is a great track, hiked it 3 times, however, one of the dangers is a set of rocks above the cave, people including myself have fallen on it and hurt their backsides badly
