Well we got a bit lost and ended up off the trail but the quarry was beautiful, path is well signed and lots of options to take re: veering off the set trail here.

Lots of trails but difficult to get into a running flow because being the first time I have run here I didn’t really know my way around. The naming and signage of trails were difficult to follow if you didn’t have your phone out.

Well sign posted for individual trails. A little tricky staying on the longer named trails as these are not kept on the signposts throughout. AllTrails made it easy until my iPhone ran out of charge 13.5kms in! Shady and pretty. Popular with great mountain bike tracks so be aware on the smaller, narrow side tracks. Enough up and down to get the heart pumping. We followed someone’s 20.9km AllTrails track. Had a few small accidental diversions off side tracks, some doubling back on a loop and ended up mostly following the trail and ended up back at our starting point at the carpark with 18.9kms clocked. Was happy to find a toilet block at about the halfway mark 10kms. Some of the track followed fencelines of surrounding suburbs but most is in the forest. Small lake on our left in the early first few kms of this walk. Very pretty. Not marked on the map and you have to really zoom in to see it on the AllTrails map. Someone asked us directions to it and we couldn’t relocate it on the map.

nice and easygoing

More of an easy trail than moderate, but I was only hiking. Would never have followed the trail without the app. Lots of trails going off in different directions. Got a bit frustrated by the app because it constantly kept zooming the map out. It became very annoying. Nice little trail though.

Easy, close to the city, lots of rocks for boys to explore, lake.

Good trail, well marked out. Take plenty of water.

The trail is heavily trafficked especially by mountain biking so be aware that you need to jump out of the way at times. The trail on the app is in-out but I made it a loop as when I got to the quarry pond, I went up to the lookout and then followed Quarry Road to the parking. According to Fitbit, it was a 7.1km (1h23m) walk but give and take on that. Parking is limited, so be aware of this.

Fun to walk, ride or take the dogs and if you are happy to swim in the quarry it tops off a great trail.

Rider environment very good , nice wide tracks ,can be challenging.

Fun to do with the dogs
