Great views of the coast and Good swimming. Can refill water at Garie surf club toilet and Wattamolla toilets. Signs say the water isn’t safe, but it’s just tank rain water.
Good for spotting birds too.

An easy hike on the way down. A really hard hike on the way back. Really worth it just to see the figure 8 pool.

This trail comes up as ‘dog friendly’ which is not accurate. Dogs are not allowed on trails in the Royal National Park.

Thisis a great trail for new and seasoned hikers with good footing and great bush view. trail is used by mountain bikers so keep your head up

this is a great trail to do if you love cliffs!

Some challenging steep sections and a solid kilometre of stairs near Audley. While some of the route is easy, I’d definitely rate a portion as being more challenging.

nice, easily marked trail ending in a beautiful swimming hole.

A very nice and enjoyable two day hike. Be warned: the 18km from Bundeena to Era is exposed with very little shade. On a 32° day, even with regular swim stops, the heat was relentless and I required 6 litres of fluid on that day. There were a few creeks you could get untreated water, but nothing south of Garie Beach, so make sure you stock up there. Era to Otford has the most enjoyable terrain and is mostly shaded.

Despite the first half being largely composed of plastic boardwalk, the trail is still very rewarding and a fair challenge. I would highly recommend it for anyone as a mid-level overnight hike. From trailhead to trailhead, we did approx 7.5hr hiking. 5 to Era, then 2.5 to Otford.

amazing trail. saw a wallaby and an echidna up close. amazing ocean views.

no shade

Bring a lot of water on a hot day. Love the views. During the week pretty calm.

Great day out. It’s 31 plus kms. Take plenty of water if hot. Only Garie Beach has water. We took and bought water, and 3 litres per person didn’t quite get us through. Amazing scenery. Hiking boots are good but the sandy beaches pose issues. A bit lot of the trail is now prefabricated- this is good for walking and viewing but takes the natural aspect away. But still a great walk.

Very rocky. Steep. Loose gravel. Water was all dried up & stagnant. Not really worth the walk today, but maybe after a wet couple of days would be more worthwhile.

Great views, worth the hike

Great track, very casual and easy with all the new boardwalk installed. Added on an extension around Jibbon Head to the north on the first day heading North to South. Was able to filter water from some of the larger creeks with a purifying system with no issues.

Fabulous & scenic trail. Eagle Rock is stunning

Great walk, from Otford Station to bundeena... Caught ferry to Cronulla. All up took around 8hrs... Amazing scenery

Great track

Beautiful views and nice walking! Totally worth...

Great track but scary when alone

Great views. The campsite at North Era isnt the best due to the lack of water.

Hiked this with five mates in 6hrs with small stops along the way with a 0630 start at Otford. Varying elevations between Otford and Watamolla.A nice walk but if you are going to do it in one day then take your time and don’t rush,it is a demanding walk.We had one member of the team have to be picked up urgently from Bundeena due to fatigue and low sugar.

Great variety of scenery. If it’s a hot day have a swim at the beach after

My favourite spot in the local area

Amazing place to visit

Very bad,not your average stroll in the park figure 8 is not worth it you should go to a normal beach as you wait 3 hours to get in the pool for 2mins and then have to walk back 8km

Very short loop. Can explore surrounding beach area along the way. Couldn't see an of the aboriginal art.

Walked from Bundeena to Otford with a group for a 2 day hike. Followed the boardwalk the whole way except some is still under construction. Lots of hills not much flat walking. Camped at South era camping ground. Awesome hike

Amazing Track.
I walked it from otford to Bundeena in 10hours.
I took a break at Marley Lagoon and took a lot of time taking pictures of different animals and the landscape.
The way to figure 8 pool is closed, but u can make it there from burning Palms Beach in the rocks (take care of Waves and Wind). I missed the figure 8 pool

Loved the costal section. Beautiful ocean views with palm jungles. The inland half was just a gravel road, kind of boring. The upside is the second half is pretty flat. If you have the energy, I’d take the same coastal trail back to the car park instead.

Beautiful walk, with well maintained tracks and amazing views of the water. The only thing that I didn’t like is that there are no free water on the trail, you can buy some water at the little shop at Garie beach but bring cash. Otherwise, make sure to bring plenty of water especially on a hot summer day as there are not enough shade. The camp at North Era is such a great spot for camping, close to beach. But I did this walk in 9 hrs with lots of break and an hour swim at the beach. I reckon this track can be done in 7 hrs with just short breaks.
