great walk

Birdsong and the hum of big city traffic compete with each other. Well marked and maintained track. Popular track, even mid-week with dozens of walkers in various groupings. Creek crossing(s) would be impassable after heavy rain, evident with debris on banks. Cafe near Lane Cove Weir a bonus.

Nice easy track which makes you feel like your out of the city even when you’re smack bang in it.

Wonderful trail. Our very 1st in Aus. Did this trail with our 10 yr old. This is a family trail and will take around 3 to 4 hrs to complete. Saw wonderful animals too.

South half of the trail is an absolute beauty with great upkeep. The northern part leaves a lot to be desired, with minimal views, and tracks that can potentially be cut off by high tide. However it is still an above average trail, and is great for a camping spot / bbq lunch as well

Loved this trail. I took the anti-clockwise direction from Terrace Rd. A good mix of terrain and a great variety of animals with Wallabies and Yellow Robins being my highlight.

The trail was super nice and easy. Plenty of shade and light breezes when you’re following the river. Plenty of wildlife like ducks and bush turkeys around. Great for a family day out!

This trail is makes you feel like you’re out of the city! Great easy-moderate track with plenty of shade and nice picnic spots along the route. Along the river where you may also hire a canoe and paddle out on the calm water with cute ducks swimming nearby.

Great hike with my 6 & 8 yo kids, easy walk with some short steps and rocks to navigate. There is a lot of shade along trail, plenty of rest points and toilets. There is a cafe and boat shed at one end of the trail too. Plenty of parking around as well. Highly recommended for people with young kids.

Good for trail running + walking. I'd be slow on the rocks, roots and creeks.

Beautiful walk. Mostly peaceful, with some good bird spotting. Could not cross the creek near Blue Hole though due to recent rain. Or at the weir.

Great trail for anyone lots of wildlife we saw kookaburras ,brush turkey , water dragons and much more

Followed the trail exactly as specified here. Early in the hike, there was a fallen tree over the river but anyways had to walk on stones to cross the river. But overall a moderate hike. There was a stone cave and boulders towards the end which was a nice surprise. Highly recommend for all fitness levels.

Started from the Visitors Centre. Riverside Trail was fairly easy up to the bridge where it joined up to the Great North Walk. The trail then became more challenging with more scrambling over fallen trees and boulders. Lost the trail a couple of times, first near the Blue Hole and then under one of the overhangs past the Terrace Road intersection. Pretty walk with lots of wildlife. Nice cafe with good tea selection to reward you at the end.

it was a nice walk, lots of wildlife

Nice easy walk with lots of little creatures to be seen.

Fabulous, so many creatures  if you are quiet; kookaburra, bush turkeys, ducks, lizards, & more.... a fab easy walk close to the city with Picnic spots too

So nice, Kids are so happy, we are so lucky because now is a holiday season, we had swan paddle boat. Will go again will our friends.

Great track for walking, hiking and running. Highly recommend.

One of the longer loop walks in Sydney with beautiful forest views and sandstone formations. Some steeper parts and 10.5 km long.
