HikingGreat!

Mostly bush, close to suburbia. Varied with a couple of slightly more technical bits. done parts will get muddy after rains. Nice variety of bushland from mangroves to dry sandstone. I took a shortcut to North Ryde station behind the Honeywell building. My recording missed the first section.

a little uneven. if, like me, you're trying to build up ankle strength, this might be a little challenging. new boots didn't help me though - I hiked out to south Turramurra before reaching the water hole...

Start: Park along Blaxland Road. Great views, lot of Australian native plants and flowers. A very short road/bridge walk at the beginning of the loop. The smell of eucalyptus and singing birds is just beautiful. Saw some turkeys and cute swamp wallabies. Make sure you have water to drink and wee-wee at the start as the sound of the trickling waters will make your bladder excited

Walking

Part of the Great North Walk on Hunters Hill side of Lane Cove River. Through Lovetts Reserve, Blackman Park and Ventemens Reach on Lane Cove West side. A great wander close to suburbia. Plenty of bush land. Some road walking to make a loop. Plenty of walkers/joggers/dog lovers making good use of the track. Plenty of options for cafe stops and public toilets.

Easy walk as long as you head in the right direction.

The bush sections along the river are spectacular and relatively easy bush walking. A few wet and muddy sections. Some great board walks thru mangroves. The return via burns bay rd is a little busy after the calm of the bush. Note there is a section near Epping Rd that had closed signs, you can proceed but it is an asbestos risk. Detours are available via the roads marked Mars Rd.

We parked around Killara so we didn’t have to pay to enter the park. It’s best to wear trail running or trekking shoes if possible. Little crowded in some areas and you can Hear traffic in some parts. But a fun walk very close to lane cove/Chatswood.

Nice flat walk with lots of options to enter and exit for a shorter or longer walk. Some of the things that are not so great - lots of muddy sections and very strong sewer smell in most sections.

first half was moderate whereas the second half is easy. takes about 3 to 3.5 hours. The last part of the walk needs to cross a flooded stream without signs. very difficult to cross. The off route feature of the app is very useful The trail is not closed any more
