This is a long steady climb which is hard work and requires a good level of fitness. The lookout at the end is spectacular and a good reward for the effort. We built a fire at the plateau at Carey’s Hut and really enjoyed our time there. It snowed on the way back which was fun. I would’ve loved some viewing spots on the way up to sit and reflect on the beauty of the landscape.

Great alpine swamp area. Falls are stunning. Go in winter if you want to be secluded. Had stunning weather

Relaxing walk that is long but not strenuous. I only saw one other hiker on entire trail and it was a weekend in Autumn. Massive trees and a signposted strangler fig that is well worth a look. Lots of access to the Williams river along the track. Allow extra time to the suggested track time as there are alot of short side walks to the river and strangler fig.

Tough-ish slog up the ridge. Sweeping (but not spectacular!) views... https://hikingtheworld.blog/2019/04/26/careys-peak-barrington-tops/

Very pleasant walk through rainforest, with several side-trips to cascades and swimming holes along the Williams River
