Nice moderate hike. About 1.5 miles up the trail is a quetzal nest that is a great spot for watching the male and female. See photos.

I walked around here in 1998. I am sure it has been updated since...

Beautiful views of the valley below the whole way! Wear long pants or socks to protect from the grass, it’ll cut. Definitely worth the climb!

This is a great loop that can be done either in a day or an overnight. There is limited water (the only source during the uphill push is in the actual town of Altos de Pacora) so be sure to pack around 3L/person. Steep uphill but so rewarding. Check out Jessica's tienda, too, once in the town. It's more hidden than the traditional tienda stop but she'll make some great food and is really welcoming.

Not that interesting. Wouldn’t do it again it’s just a long path in the ocean.

This is a beautiful and difficult hike. The hiking isn't demanding, it is the distance and elevation gain that makes it challenging. A few tips from my experience. It can be climbed in 4.5 hours, time it accordingly to catch sunrise. Total time is 8 hours without taking into account an hour to take photos at the top. My group got to the top with hours to spare and were so cold. Wear pants, several layers, hat and gloves. The top is normally 7 degrees with some wind. I completed this hike in January 2018 from the guard house. Best time December to April
Trail Length: 16.77 miles / 27 km roundtrip (up and back)
Elevation Gain: 7,498 feet (2,274 meters)
Elevation of Volcan Baru Summit: 11,398 feet / 3,474 meters
Temperature at Summit: 45 Fahrenheit / 7 Celsius (approximate lows)

This trail is near Boquete and locally called the "Pipeline Trail". It's 2.8 miles R/T, not 3.8. It takes about 1 hour and 10 mins in, less than an hour out. It follows a stream up to a box canyon where you will find the "Cascada Escondida" falls. The review by Ryan is about a different hike called "The Lost Waterfalls".

Suggest: 1. Removing this review and
accurately putting it under the correct trail. 2. Renaming this Trail "The Pipeline" not Boquete Waterfalls.

The magical jaguar falls! A nice hike, not to hilly nor strenuous. However, it is wet. Around 17 river crossings means a lot of walking through water. Hiking down to the actual falls is super steep but fun if you have the right attitude. And the waterfall itself is gorgeous, refreshing and a great way to spend a hot day.

This hike was good for my soul. Challenging, but awesome. Love that this trail passes through an actual town. Makes for a nice change of scenery (hillside homes and children playing) and it's awesome to be able to stock up on mid-trek snacks and candy bars. This hike will leave you feeling tired but soo fulfilled.

Awesome trail with breathtaking views at the top. You have to do it on a clear day but if you do you can see both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, Panama City, and both North and South America. Absolutely amazing

Wonderful hike. Strenuous but worth every minute. On clear days you can see both oceans from the city, Alto Pacora. There is a little shop that you can stop at there as well that has snacks and drinks. Would definitely recommend.

Multiple giant waterfalls make the end worth the effort. The climb is not too steep so moderate is a good description. The second waterfall
Requires climbing a wall with rope and is the hardest part.
