Øyungen is a great hike for adventurers of all ages. Although you are on a well-maintained gravel trail, you are completely immersed in nature, walking side by side the Skarselva River, which runs down to Maridalsvannet, Oslo’s largest lake.Show more

This is one of the most convenient places to get outside near Oslo. Take bus 30 (Bygdøy) from Oslo central station or drive and park in one of the many car parks. This route will take you along the water, but there are chances to take the side trails as well and extend your hike.Show more

This hike to the small mountain Skaugumsåsen offers a great view of Asker and Oslo. There are several ways to get there, and each way basically points up. This path goes around the mountain and you pass the Semsvannet lake which is a nice opportunity to rest.Show more

Nice tour through the Hardangervidda! The tour starts from Fagerheim Fjellstue. The well-marked DNT path leads along the north side of Storekrækkja to the Krækkja tourist hut. The trail is a bit rocky, but dry and easy to hike. Flat terrain, only flat just before Krækkja it gets a bit hilly. From Krækkja, follow the road southwest towards Halne and Kjeldebu. Cross the bridge over the river from Drageidfjord. Turn left just across the river and follow the path along the stream to Storekrækkja. Then follow the flat and beautiful path along the water back to Fagerheim. A great tour, also for children.Show more

Nice hike from Frognerseteren cabin with a break at Skjennungstua cabin. The trail starts next to the metro station. From there there are nice trails down and past Tryvannet and Skjennungen. Follow the signs to Skjennungstua, which is located on a hill. Same way back.Show more

Length: 3.2 mi • Est. 1 h 18 m
To the east and west of the Semsvann's blue mirror, steep mountainsides plunge down. They go straight over into soft rolling pastures. On the east and north side of the water is a unique collection of homestead places. The contrasts create this beautiful and distinctive natural and cultural landscape. In 1992, Semsvannet and the landscape north and south of the water received status as a landscape protection area due to the geology, plant and animal life and cultural history.Show more
