The hike was easy, but views spectacular

Perfect trail for those who want to do a nice track surrounded by picturesque views rather high in the mountains, but not to gain too much height. The length is enough to spend several hours walking, but almost all the track is on the same height, so it is rather easy.

This trail was awesome! We parked at the very first parking zone, before the toll road. Honestly, it was not worth the extra walk. 40 kroner is nothing. We wish we had just skipped the first 2.2 km that is between the first parking area and the second parking area - it was just farm road. Once you start the trail proper, it is amazing! Great views, beautiful waterfalls,Clouds hanging off the side of the mountain. We did not make it to the glacier, though we tried. Rocks on the trail get very slick in the rain, but can be navigated with care.

This trail will kick your butt. With that said and out of the way, it was one of the coolest hikes I've done. There is a large portion in the middle that is flat and your body gets used to it but then you reach the switch backs where you begin to climb. The beauty does help to ease the ache of your muscles and joints. After the switch backs you begin to climb even more elevation when you scramble up your path for quite a bit of time to the top!

I really enjoyed this hike to the Brekkefossen waterfall. It is a steep, family-friendly hike. From the point where the trail leaves the road, it took us about 20 minutes to reach the viewing overlook. Nice views of the Flam valley along the trail. Great panoramic view of the waterfall, river, fjord, and town from the top. Video: https://youtu.be/vpUiRxfo8zw

Short hike but very steep. A decent portion on the trail is stone steps near the beginning and then steep uphill and on dirt after that so shoes with good traction are highly recommended. I think some others talk about it being swampy at the beginning but it was completely dry today. I only recorded my decent to the road

This is quite an easy summer hike. It starts off with a recently constructed path of steps all the way to the Brekkefossen viewpoint. Next follows a little bit more challenging steep forrest path. If it’s rainy, there is a lot of water running down the path. You may encounter several herds of sheep on your way, but the animals are usually really shy. Next part of trek is physically far less demanding, but since the trail goes through swamps you should bring some good waterproof gear. It is possible to avoid this by leaving the trail and walking around. The last part requires you to step over the stream and a little bit of steep walk all the way up to the lake. Keep an eye on red “T” markings and you will find your way up.

This is a relatively short hike up from Flåm that rewards you with a relaxing waterfall and fantastic views.
