Hiked up the first half with a headlamp, tented at the top for the night, then fished the hike to Kjeragbolten and back to the trail/restaurant parking lot in the morning.
Going up the mountainsides and down into the valleys can take a lot out of you even on a shorter distance hike, but the views are immensely worth the trek (as life is ;]).

Today the weatherforcast was some rain nd wind. At higher levels it was sometimes cold and slippery Near the boulder te rain was gone and I could step upon it. The hike back was sometimes more difficult than the way to the boulder.
Also a nice moment to meet other hikers.

Awesome hike. Weather was a little wet. Bring 2 pairs of gloves. One to get wet and climb with and one to warm up your frozen fingers lol

Found this hike harder than expected due to the multiple hills at the start. Completed back in August 2014. If you have the guts take a step onto Kjerabolten and snap a pic.

Was a nice hike partly under the trees and partly in the sun.

Obsoletely worth of your 4-5 hours to hike to the top and enjoy the beauty of the fjords and glaciers!

Absolutely STUNNING views everywhere you look! The first overlook has great views of the Sognefjorden but during the beginning of the hike there are a few great overlooks into the Esefjorden. At the very top of the trail, once you reach the wooden sign that says "Raudmelen" and points to other trails, there is a small trail to the right which ends at a bench overlooking the Esefjorden. There are amazing views of the glacier and valleys surrounding the fjord and I was lucky enough to see a double rainbow! (This also meant that I was in a rainstorm for a bit). One of the prettiest hikes I've done in Norway - so happy a local recommended this hike to me!
