Hiking

Amazing!! Me and my friends traveled in March 2018 and did this hike!! It is absolutely amazing! There was a lot of snow but the skies were cleared it was sunny and very nice. A bit slippery so if you are not very confortable with snow be careful. Bring food, a hot drink and gloves for sure!! We started the hike from the parking lot around 11:00am and by the time we were back it was about 5:00pm we spend a nice time at the cliff took some pictures and went back before sunset. A quick tip and an important one. Keep you eyes on the road always. Specially going down. The sun melts to top of the snow surfaces and it turns into ice. Sometimes “Black ice” on rocks which is hard to see. You can slip in a blink of an eye lol. Temperature was around 5C use light and warm enough clothes and bring an extra top just in case. Our food of choice was brown cheese, bread, chocolate and coffee. Anyways, have fun! And please! Respect the nature :) Jonathan G,

Hiking

Hiked up the first half with a headlamp, tented at the top for the night, then fished the hike to Kjeragbolten and back to the trail/restaurant parking lot in the morning. Going up the mountainsides and down into the valleys can take a lot out of you even on a shorter distance hike, but the views are immensely worth the trek (as life is ;]).

We went in May and it was a great morning hike. We started early to beat the crowds and it was worth it. It was a beautiful view from the top and nice to spend some time at the top without huge crowds!

On the 4th of September I hiked Preikestolen fot the 2nd time. I took my rest during the walk and enjoyed the sun I did hill trail and had a perfect panorama over the platform and the fjord. As I knew what was coming it was more easy than the first time.

Today the weatherforcast was some rain nd wind. At higher levels it was sometimes cold and slippery Near the boulder te rain was gone and I could step upon it. The hike back was sometimes more difficult than the way to the boulder. Also a nice moment to meet other hikers.

Easy hike up - a little tough going down as it is mostly rock stairs. Very touristy and crowded but the top is beautiful. If it’s foggy when you reach the top, sit and wait because the fog comes and goes and you won’t want to miss the view.

Awesome hike. Weather was a little wet. Bring 2 pairs of gloves. One to get wet and climb with and one to warm up your frozen fingers lol

Nice hike, easily accessible from Gramstad, Sandnes. Great View from the top. The hike is often done as a roundtrip together with Mattirudlå as the first peak.

Walking

Quite a hard walk to the top and even harder downhill. Very stony path to walk.

Found this hike harder than expected due to the multiple hills at the start. Completed back in August 2014. If you have the guts take a step onto Kjerabolten and snap a pic.

Pretty easy fun hike. Completed back in August 2014. At the end saw some people had picnics. My friends and I did some yoga.

Amazing view. Busy trail in late July. 10-13 minute wait for the most highly coveted picture spot.

One of the best views I’ve had at the end of a hike. Got to eat lunch dangling 1800 feet above the water.

Hiking

Fantastic hike. It is challenging and you need to be in decent shape. The view from the top is absolutely amazing. We took a Fjord cruise followed by the hike. It was cool to see the Fjord from the bottom and then the top. Make sure to actually wear shoes appropriate for hiking. There were a few tourists trying to do this hike in high heels. It was a sprained ankle waiting to happen.

Hiking

If this hike were just about anywhere else, I would give it 5-stars. This one is great, but it just doesn't compare to Trolltunga or Kjerag. If you do this one, make sure you hike up above Pulpit Rock and do the loop trail. There are far fewer people and the views are much better than on the rock itself.

This hike is not for the faint of heart. It is worth attempting. Not necessarily difficult, just continuous effort. We've been twice with our 6 and 8 yr olds. Certainly, the summit is breathtaking, but there is much to see on the way up and back. Our first climb was on a sunny 21 degree day in June. Our second climb, was maybe 18 degrees and rainy (not a sprinkle, heavy rain) in late July. I'd do it again!

Hiking

Absolutely awesome trail for the avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast. Short distance wise but you get a respectable 2000ft elevation gain. If you ever find yourself in the beautiful country of Norway, you simply have to partake in this fjord-set adventure. In the upper parts of the trail you'll come across a series of little lakes and rain basins dotted with colorful heather and various conifers. Once you summit the Pulpit Rock you'll be able to indulge in a beautiful vista that is the Lysefjord gleaming in vibrant turquoise color. You'll experience varied terrain ranging from compacted earth, man-made wooden bridges spanning across swamps to boulder fields and near vertical talus slopes. Some scrambling is required.
