We only went up a few hundred meters. The trail appears to be very challenging. Wish we had more time to explore

Turned back with heavy winds and blasts of rain but it was mostly a gravel road (can't say for the top) with picnic tables on the lower section. Pretty nice walk. Couldn't see much due to weather but I expect it's a nice view.

Amazing payoff at the top. I did this on running shoes in a light rain and i didn't have much trouble with the trail. A little muddy in spots. On the harder side of the easy scale.

Completed in early July. Took about 2.5 hrs round trip at leisurely pace. Fun climb, beautiful scenery with last half along ridge. Views of mountain lake / drinking water reservoir about half way. Pretty steep at the top. Sign registration book at top with 360 panorama including Alesund. Highly recommended.

My son and I stopped and hiked this trail while driving the Atlantic Road. It had really good views of the bridge, islands and coast. The trash sculpture, in the shape of a crab, was created by students of a nearby middle school after collecting trash along the islands connected by the Atlantic Road. There is a trail book about half-way around the loop, which of course we had to sign. The trail is very well done, short, flat and easy allowing it to be enjoyed by all. There is also a cafe and restrooms right next to the parking lot. There were very few people around when we were there in May, so I could see it getting a more traffic during the summer months.

Out of towners visiting from the US but our airbnb host suggested this hike. Great views of the archipelagos. We parked at the school and eventually found the trail. We had to search a bit in the neighborhood. We hiked in the rain the 3rd week of August. Be warned, there was quite a bit of mud and tree roots that are veeeeery slippery when muddy and wet. I took a pretty decent fall to my knee from slipping. Wear your hiking boots if you have them, you could skirt by without if necessary but take it slow and be cautious. We also were surprised and kept feeling as we stopped at a ridge we were very close to the top but it kept going up and up. It’s a bit deceiving with the top being set back and somewhat more gradual. Quick and easy hike for some beautiful views!
