Best nature trips trails in Innlandet, Norway

Ta en båt fra Gjendesheim til Memurubu for å ta en enveis tur med episk utsikt over innsjøen hele veien. Kan også gjøres som en multi-dagers backpacking tur. Det er ingen parkering ved fergekaien der turen begynner, så parker mye omtrent en halv mil oppover veien, og det går en skyttelbuss derfra. Vakker fottur med fantastisk natur. Norway's highest mountain towers over the surrounding peaks and offers a fantastic view of Jotunheimen. From Spiterstulen it is relatively easy for hikers in good shape to hike. However, the tour is quite long and you should plan around 9 hours out and back. From Spiterstulen you take the path to the west up the hill over the peaks Svellnose and Keilhaus. Hiking on the Besseggen ridge offers an iconic view shaped by the colorful Gjende and Bessvatnet lakes. Lake Gjende is a stunning emerald green color and is very long and narrow. Lake Bessvatnet is deep blue and is one of the clearest lakes in Norway. Hiking on the Besseggengrat is very demanding. The path becomes extremely difficult in rainy weather. So check the weather forecast and talk to locals and other hikers before you set off. The trail from Mysusæter to Peer Gynt Cabin follows a small gravel road and is easy to follow. The trail itself offers great views of the Rondane mountains and the surrounding area. The royal road over the Kvamskleiva between Hemsing Bridge and Syndrol. This is the old royal road between eastern and western Norway. Pretty steep the first few kilometers. After that, the road flattens into a grassy, beautiful and wide road. A stop at the old Kvam, the old sheriff's yard, is highly recommended. Well signposted.Show more

The trailhead is the Glitterheim tourist lodge at the foot of the mountain. You follow the marked route northwest up to 2250 meters above sea level.
