I would highly recommend this trail to anybody who likes low level walking around a 300m ascent up a river, although at this time of year (oct onwards) you need to be careful on a few of the river crossings as can be slippery when icy. Wooded areas with the chance to spot foxes, eagles or reindeer and a nice suprise when you get to the end of the trail.

An absolutely awesome climb. Different terrain and stunning views all the way up the mountain. Highly Recommended!

The steps created by the Sherpas a few years ago were a joy to climb. 1003 in total took us around 30 mins to climb to the top, but tremendous views from the top and an option to continue to the summit

Beautiful scenic view at the top! This is not your typical hike in the back woods, surrounded by nature. The majority of the hike is walking up stone steps on the side of the mountain at a very steep incline. I went on a Sunday and it was very busy. This is not an easy hike but there are no large obstacles that you have to overcome besides the incline!

If I had to describe this hike, it’s an obstacle course!!! At first the hike begins on a farm and you have to pass all of these cows to get to the first gate. Next you pass horses and then get through another gate. The first part of the actual hike is beautiful, heavily wooded and well marked. About 20 minutes in the trail becomes basically you following the waterfall up the mountain! I had a huge smile on my face because it was exhilarating. However, there were tons of ropes for pulling yourself up on rock walls. It was basically rock climbing, which I had not prepared for. I almost reached the top but had to turn around because the rock climbing was too intense. Beautiful hike!!!

A good trail for a rainy day... the route is well marked, most boggy areas have wooden walkways, and there are some areas protected from the wind. You will need good gear nonetheless! Careful on the slippery rocks.

Came here this morning around 915am. There were only a few cars in the parking lot, but it was raining on and off. The trail had some very muddy spots due to the rain. The trail can be a bit hard to follow at times and slick so make sure to wear hiking boots! If you are not good with incline don’t do this hike because most of it is like you’re taking the stairs. The view at the end is surreal, nothing compares so the hike is definitely worth it. I bought a waffle and coffee in the restaurant afterwards (not the cafe) & got a free parking token. Note - they don’t give those out with a food purchase at the cafe, parking is 250 NOK and my waffle and coffee was 70 NOK so make sure to do that!
