Scenic walk in the town of Valle along the marked watermill path. The Mill House Road is very central to Valle. On your way around you will see several cultural-historical buildings while being surrounded by the most beautiful nature. The first thing you will meet is the old mill at Harstad. The mill at Harstad. The mill consists of 5 small mills along with a few ruins, these are placed next to the river "Gryte". Among other things in this area, you will find a barn being a blacksmiths shop, saunas and a stable. The foot path continues along the mountainside through the woods to the open air museum Tveitetunet. Along this part of the walk you have a constant view of the valley. Tveitetunet is a part of the Setesdal museum complex. Tveitetunet was the home of the farmer and local sheriff Olav Knutsson Tveiten (1758-1837). He was voted into the National Assembly at Eidsvoll in 1814. The popular Valle Utstillinga exhibition has been organised at Tveitetunet over the past summers. The farmyard with its special atmosphere and the historical buildings form a unique frame around this sales exhibition of art and crafts, all of which is made in the valley. From Tveitetunet the footpath continues to Brottveit. Here you will find a most fantastic view over the village of Valle. You will be at the highest point of your walk at this point, about 480 meters over sea level. From Brottveit you will follow the old Stavdalsvegen (bridle way). This road was built in the 1930's. This was a big advantage for the local farmers as hey could drive their horse and carts along the whole way to the herding area in Stavdalen. Along your walk you will encounter a few gates, these are to so the sheep do not escape. Please close the gates after you and show consideration when walking on farmlands and keep you dog on leash.Show more

Length: 2.4 mi • Est. 58 m
Skrelia is a pectacular hiking area. It is a flat, hiking-friendly mountain massif that towers over the fjord and offers a fantastic view. From nature's side, Skrelia is decorated with moving blocks, reminiscent of the violent forces that created the area during the last ice age. Trails painted directly on the rock lead you from the parking lot to Skrelifallan, a waterfall that needs no river bed other than the bedrock, past places where barbecues are set up and around the very bathing-friendly Sandvatnet. The flat mountain also makes Skrelia perfect for those who are not so good at walking, which means that everyone can enjoy the fantastic view.Show more
