Beautiful views of belfast hill and belfast harbour, nature and history

Walking through Tollymore is relaxing, beautiful and throughly enjoyable. It was good to see families with young children taking a stroll through the park and what was a lovley fresh autumn day. There are plenty of stops along the route to enjoy the view and take photos or just simply watch those trying to walk over the stepping stones across the river. If following the map, try not to follow the ‘loop’ once you arrive at the ‘Disney Bridge’ before crossing the river on the homeward run. Just cross the bridge here and follow the road. I followed the map and ended up in the woods and followed the river back to the bridge. There’s nothing but bears and lions in there!

on Slieve Donard Trail

The way was quite easy to find. By and large, just follow the water. For the first 1.5 km of the trail, surefootedness was required due to previous rainfall. Basically, I recommend for the trail ankle-high hiking boots. The next few kilometers meander up the mountain in a staircase. The last 500 meters are really steep, but doable. It is best to take something to eat with you and then make a picnic with a view up in the lee of the wall.

Wonderful trail! I hiked it very out of shape two years ago, so it was a bit difficult as a day hike. The views were phenomenal and well worth it.

Absolutely fabulous. It is rated as moderate but the last 500 metres plus is quite steep but the views are rewarding. We walked with all ages- from 7 to 75 ang everyone enjoyed the climb. We had a mostly sunny day but it was quite cool at the top (13C). Highly recommend for anyone.

Great walk, however, upon reaching the top I found the sign very misleading as to what direction the path lead. After eventually finding my way down, followed the path up backwards and it is overgrown and needs cleared more. Apart from that great

Done this last Sunday with friends. Easy to navigate, wonderful scenery and it takes a moderate amount of effort to do it. It's windy at the top but on a clear day, the view is breathtaking. Took us 2 hours to do and that's with plenty of breaks. Highly recommended!

This was a fun trail which was kept super interesting by the different terrain. Follow the river up and you’ll be in for a delight in sights, sounds and textures. It was windy up the the top but it makes you feel alive.

The view at the top was amazing and got to hang out with the goats until they chased us down the mountain

I did this today (2-24-19), coming in from Utah with a friend. This trail was jaw-dropping, I was awestruck by the beauty the entire way. It is a pretty easy hike unless you are not used to hiking and then it could be challenging. It was foggy when we went, which created a superb ambience. I couldn't recommend this one more. Wear warm clothes as it gets very windy

Great view at the top. Steep climb for the last 30 minutes of summit.

started at Donard car park and cut through the forest . the trail is well marked out . It's climb all the way on rocks and stones. up onto steps to get to the saddle and a beautiful stone wall built in 1910 . the climb to the summit is very tough on the legs . hard gradient . coming down is a bit slow at summit . the rest is doddle

Brilliant trail!

Good solid underfoot and clearly defined tracks. Views are astounding and the Mourne wall always within sight if you are not actually following it.
