Nice walk. A happy 3yo walked all of it in 2hours (and with mangos, cake and lots of stories). Great view on the lake on the way up.

Awesome views. Good hard ascent. Suggest do the hill first and relax around the base

Great views at the top. Constant uphill then downhill on the way down. Definitely felt it in the knees. I would get there before 7am in summer as there is parking available and the cooler temps are much better. Drank 3L but am a bit out of shape. Two notes: 1. There is a $2 fee at the start of the trail so bring a coin. 2. With it being now a very famous Instagram spot, there is a lot of people doing this that don’t respect how difficult it is.

5 heures de randonnée pour une vue magnifique au sommet malgré les nuages car le vent souffle et les nuages bougent très vite !

Beautiful walk! Bit humid and wish I brought a bathing suit to go into the bay. Bring lots of water!

Lovely short walk between Furneaux and Punga Cove lodges. Good track. Quite a few seat options for a break if needed. Beautiful sunny day.

Great trail. Rangitoto Volcano summit, Boulder (Wreck) Bay, coastal track and Flax Point. Take 9:15 sailing in the morning and you can make it back in time for the 2:30 ferry back. Want to take it easier, you have the option of taking the 3:30 ferry back as well.

Phenomenal views, but extremely heavily trafficked.

Fun hike- started at 8 am and it was cloudy so nice and shady going up. There is no bad view the entire way up or down. You will need snacks for energy but we did a semi jog down and took the short cuts which was ready fun. Makes you feel like a big kid exploring. Ended at 12:11 with plenty of rest stops. Enjoy!

Personally I found Roys Peak easier.. Distance - Easy. Physical - Moderate. There were a few steep and slippery sections where at 5ft2 I had to scramble/climb and even come down on my butt. There are also quite a few stairs/steps. Mental - Hard. This was the hard part for me. Some sections of path are single file, so passing can be tricky. Some sections have big drops and my acrophobia got the better of me. I actually froze on a couple of occasions. This aggravated my vertigo. But all in all the views are stunning and worth the mental challenge. To be fair, I'd say 95% of people wouldn't have any issues, but please bear my comments in mind if heights/drops are an issue for you.

Beautiful views, diverse scenery, mainly flat. Perfect day hike. Highly recommend.

Très belle randonnée avec en récompense un panorama à couper le souffle. Apparemment il est interdit de bivouaquer dans cette zone... dommage. Le vent souffle fort sur les crêtes. Comptez 5/6h.

Wet but lovely

Fun, fairly easy trail. Well marked and maintained. We connected with another trail and continued to Tapeka Point for some awesome views!

As a local this walk for the average fit person a six-hour walk round trip, on a zig-zag track through farmland please leave no litter for the sheep to eat, it's uphill all the way, no shade no trees no huts, toilet at the base and one-up the top. No need to go right to the top as the view is no different. A very crowded track at peak season.parking can be difficult and parking on the road will spoil your day with a parking fine. Go early , there is a bus that runs from town not sure of the cost. Take good shoes, jacket food and water, the weather can change quickly and possibly windy in November and December. What makes this walk special the views of Lake Wanaka
