The hike up has you hidden the whole way until it opens up and shows you the glacier. It's definitely worth the hike though. Pack water. The only downside to this trail is the helicopters, they are nonstop and become annoying, they don't allow you to hear the natural sounds around you.

I enjoyed this loop very much! The Pororari River track portion was fairly heavily trafficked, but once I continued on up to the peak to make it a loop, there was much less traffic. Very well-marked and maintained, a fun hike!

Easy loop walk, although there are stairs which make it not wheelchair friendly. The views are incredible, and the scenery unique. A must see!

A really good hike but definitely on the difficult side - some rock scrambles and very uneven clambers! Worth it though with beautiful views all the way up, amazing woodlands and creeks / bridges to keep things interesting. Took us 7 and a half hours up and 6 hours down (with breaks for lunch etc). Some very high wire bridges so not a walk for someone scared of heights. Really enjoyed it but pretty tired after!

Nice walk into the bush, easy. The tunnel is interesting wear a torch and boots. There is a beautiful view from the river all along the track

Is a really nice walk to the glacier point lookout l dis it in February now is close due the road is broken.

Hi, At the moment is close the last part because is a big active slip of the mountain there. But the Glacier view is nice from the carpark track.

Trail was closed! We didn’t see it

The trail was close! Didn’t see the glacier

Beautiful walk a long lake side

I felt like this track was hard going but worth it. the views around are amazing. I slept in the hut over night. dont forget your swim wear and a towel as there are natural hot pools out the back which are totally worth a quick dip or s long soak depending how you're feeling.

Pretty walk around the lake. When the water is really still everything is reflected beautifully. The trail was only busy up until the viewpoint and further round the lake wasn’t too busy from then. Must do if in area

Nice easy walk up to the glacier. In February you can about 450m from the glacier when the weather is good. Was rather busy trail but did not spoil from the view.

Pretty short walk, the river is a beautiful colour. We got here at 7.30am and was amazing as we were the only ones there the entire walk. So try and check this place out early.

A great trail, simple to walk but very busy.

Such a great track especially after the crowded and noisy Pancake Rocks track - quiet, unpopulated by people and cameras, unhurried through a patch of rainforest with a lovely beach and waterfall at the end. Take the time to enjoy this one, particularly if you've just done the Pancakes.

Pleasant walk through the trees. Views not particularly exciting when it’s cloudy. Nice cafe and shop at the start.

Only did half of this walk, good fun but is quite hard work on the way up. Good view points in the first few kms if you don’t want to do the whole walk.

Fantastic walk, best view of the glaciers without doing a Heli-hike. Mostly sheltered with a few great view points before the top. Just be aware the main car park is 3km from the start of the walk!

Stunning views of the milky turquoise water. Excellent effort to view ratio!

This is a relatively easy hike out to the glacier which has receded dramatically over the years. Interesting markers describe the locations of the glacier as it receded. Not as spectacular as Rob Roy Glacier but a lot more accessible.

Another beautiful well maintained walk to the ocean. Amazing rock formations. Worth the walk!!
