One of the best walk I have done! Stunning forest with huge smooth rocks, and a beautiful view as a reward.

awesome! we did it the other way around (clockwise) and we think this way is better, so we saved the best views for day 3 and had the more flat parts through the forest in the beginning. we had the best possible weather but it can get muddy. luxmore hut was pretty crowded. luxmore peak and the luxmore caves are pretty awesome too!

nice view at the outlook! Better sunshine days to challenge the summit!

Great walk. Very sheltered. Lovely Bush with couple of nice views. Paths well maintained. Closer to 10km measured by Fitbit. Elevation gained approx 285m

Nice walk with awesome views. Took a bit of an accidental detour 3km in through a reserve heading back towards coast, but still beautiful views, and used app with live gps to find our way back towards initial route out. Slippery at times and walking over exposed tree roots at times. Came back via beach so lots of walking over rocks to get back to car. Had our fit 8 year old with us and he managed ok. We needed to walk through sea for maybe 50m but as close on low tide mostly climbing over rocks. Understood dogs allowed so had ours with us mostly on leash (off leash climbing over rocks) but signs around parking show dogs not allowed. There were a couple of other dogs but also got told off by worker when close by and returning to parking that dogs not allowed and if ranger spots us we’ll be fined. Said north of Gordon’s road ok for dogs so a bit confusing.

Closed off as river was too dangerous, not certain how often the trail is open

Nice trail of ups and downs so not too hard on any muscles. Cracking view from the top, well worth the trip.

Found this trail today and was so nice! I ran it and was good because it was sheltered pretty much the whole way. Would recommend!

Easy, any fitness, any weather track. Through Mangroves and lookout points to the waterfall. Shags in the Trees. Coming back the same way is more enjoyable than the full circle which involves walking a busy roadside after the waterfalls

Great, peaceful and easy walk ending at the Stone Store & Plough n Feather Pub that serve a nice lunch after the walk I would say an any weather walking trail

Rando hors du temps, incroyable. 4 h pénibles dans la forêt récompensées par 1h dans la vallée qui est juste magique, avec des dizaines et des dizaines de cascades de partout

2nd time I've done the track today.. still awesome walk... sad that we are very short on rain and the waterfall is very dry... nice to follow the wairere track for 500m mostly along the stream that the waterfall comes from. leads to the north/south track

Sehr einfache Wanderung unter 1h, schöner Wasserfall

We weren’t able to hike too much of this trail due to a torrential rain storm. We did hike far enough to see the rapids, which looked awesome in the rain!

Moderately challenging trail with a nice waterfall and great views. If I'm being honest you could have walked to the right of the bridge to start, gone up to the summit, and then turned back around. The left side of the loop trail doesn't have much to see besides the waterfall, which would be only an extra 15 mins from the summit. Great for dog walking and an easy track to follow.

finally got to do this trail after the lockdown. awesome track, although there is some signage that could do with some replacing, one sign I couldnt even read, someone had intentionally scratched it out. but all and all, awesome walk, nice veiws, so much quiet, and at one point I could see the sky tower, and rangitoto island. I'm not that fit, I just enjoy walking, I found this one rather easy surprisingly.

Attempted Gertrudes saddle on the 20th of May and could not make it past the saddle. Unfortunately the rocks were covered in frost and ice and without the proper equipment (not even sure if crampons would have helped) it was not safe since it is a sheer cliff and one wrong step would be a fall to death. I would suspect this track is a beautiful walk from mid to late November through March, but would not attempt unless its above 15 degrees at the carpark. Did get to see 2 kea, but could not see over the saddle to get the amazing view of Milford Sound that is pictured in the cover photo.

Cathedral Cove is the main attraction, half of the fun is the walk. This beautiful trail follows the rocky coastline and passes a few other beautiful bays and stunning lookouts. No dogs allowed.

What an absolute amazing hike up to this alpine lake. There were a few construction zones going on in areas with bridges and boardwalks but we managed to be able to accomplish this magnificent view of a hike. If you want a gradual climb up to a million dollar view. This is it. Go do this hike and then go do a cruise in Milford Sound. What a great day.

awesome track. I saw an eel while crossing the river. wet, slippery, and sketchy.

I got told to go via the stream on the way up rather than the main track. i am glad i did not listen because on the way up i was greeted with sun shining through open gaps in the bush and native birds who flew right in front of me. It was hard yakka getting up. that view. unbelievable. Take your time and revel in the landscape at the top.

There are some dangerously steep sections of this trail - we decided to turn back rather than continue downhill it was so steep. Fairly nice views along the way but the fence is a constant and the wire mesh ruins the views behind it.

We loved this hike. Nice steady climb rewarded with beautiful views once you reach the top
