Nice and quite easy hike. We went additional 2,5km up to the summit and it was definitely worth it!

awesome track, took my 4 yrs old and he loved it. were a few tricky spots where the track narrowed and had a very steep drop in the side.
beautiful area and was a fun walk to do. will definitely do it again
amazng to do on a hot day as lots of shade though the forest

Beautiful waterfall with lots of water flowing even in summer. Walk has some steep bits but nothing to hard and well worth climbing up to this waterfall. Lots of parking and toilets at trail head. For photography best to hit this spot in the afternoon as that is when the sun is shining on it otherwise just shining in your face in the mornings

Such a great hike! We were a bit disappointed about the huge amount of people on the top, that drove up there...
But other than that awesome. Spectacular views not only on the top, also walking down and alongside the lake.

Great trail, well shaded. Steady climb to top and grade not too difficult. Does involve some climbing over rocks, tree roots, and logs. Views of glacier get better as you get higher

It was truly amazing. I dit it in two days in clockwise.
First day only jungle. You follow a river and then a lake. But the second day was wonderful. Using three hours you follow mountains ridge with scenic views.
One of the great hike I have done

this is great place to hike,
beautiful views and family friendly.
I went with my husband, 2 year old and 6 week old.

awesome place to go! definently look forward to doing it again next year.
best to wear sandles.
once you reach the lake it is quite steep, and the lake gets deep fast.
i would say it's not very suitable for young children.

Trail is a freeway compared to trails in Washington state. Miles of trail mat. Which is very nice on the feet. Coming off the top you have a 350foot scree slide down the trail

There is a river at the end of the trail, great for the kids to splash in after lunch.

Perfect as a harbour side stroll, jog, run, scooter, bike ride or skateboard.

Great track good climb loved it.

Easy great hike with stunning views. Trail is well maintained, accessible for nearly everyone.

Nice easy walk, do have some small hills to climb but fantastic views. Ended the walk with a swim in the ocean!

one if my favourite walks in the waikato, nice track, can be muddy at the top. waterfall is just beautiful.

Surprisingly steep, but good view from the top! Great if you need a 2-3 hour semi rigorous hike. Lots of shade, you aren’t exposed to the sun.

Very steep track compared to other ways up Mt Thomas but worth the push to the top

love it

Excellent hike. The weather held and I had nothing but sunshine compared to the people who had sleet and rain the previous day. The track is very easy to follow and stay on. This could be done in the evening with a headlamp as well. Guardian of the citadel indeed.

Nice easy trail with cool historic mill and mine artifacts along the way. Great biking trail as well.

Hard but rewarding. Rain and mist and cloud and sun greeted us on this trail. Recommend hiking boots for this one.

What better place to hike in a rainy day than in a rain forest?!? We couldn’t-get to the long fall, as it was too sloppy, but enjoyed the hike.
