Beautiful! 5 hours out and back. Feels like 3 different hikes because views change so often. Can be a bit muddy but great views. Make sure to go on a sunny day. If cloudy save it for another time.

If going in winter prepare for the last 1.5 km to be in snow, but totally worth it. Around 5 hours to very top and back including photo and breathing breaks for moderate fitness

Great hike! Decent fitness can get to top in less than an hour. Very fun to crawl up the roots and view is beautiful. Slippery coming down and make sure to follow the orange triangles.

Definitely gets your heart rate up Worth the climb, once getting to that top view, carry on about 50m down a trail to go closer to the mountains. Take layers in your backpack- I had a thermal, jersey and beanie and I still got cold at the top (sunny day in July) id take gloves next time. Unfortunately I didn’t see or hear any birds.

Amazing hike. Need to be moderately fit and take good hiking boots and clothing. Was snow at the top, with ice around. Took avoid adding extra time I recommend driving up the road to the car park. As it took 2 hrs to get to top. Beautiful views of hanmer, snowy mountains and surrounding farming country. What made it even better was my partner proposed on the way down an amazing end to the hike.

Beautiful walk. Took us 2 hrs return. Would recommend walking the extra 2 mins to the tunnel which is sign posted just a short distance before the waterfall.

Je te commande fortement. Pour le lever de soleil, le circuit est magnifique et l'arrivée exceptionnelle.. Allez au sommet, ça vaut le coup.

Love the walk to the top but we couldn't find the loop track going back down after we pass the short tunnel we carried on and end up at Te aroha summit, I'm glad we did because the view from the top is beautiful and priceless, worth the hard climb.

Not that difficult. Fantastic view at the top, the rise is just a bit boring.

Super vue panoramique depuis le sommet, ça vaut vraiment le coup ! Préférez le passage Est, moins boueux et humide que le chemin Ouest.

Fantastic 360degree views from the top - highly recommend. Wear something warm in winter - it is extremely exposed & windy!

We only wanted to do the low level - high level track loop but we lost our way and end up all the way to Te aroha summit from there we went down to Te aroha town, amazing hike up and down hard though but the weather is just best, took us almost 6.5 hours return to our car park instead of 4 hours. The view from the top was beautiful worth the climb.

This was such a cool experience... nothing I’ve ever seen before as new to this area. Really easy loop that took us 40 mins with lots of stopping to look around

Starting from Shakespeare bay to the ww2 lookout and back is a great 6km return walk, not too muddy, heaps of shade and views the whole way. Great steady incline most of the way up for an achievable challenge

Nice fairly easy short walk. Some steep hills but worth it for the 360 view. The beach at the start is cool and there are heaps of fantails at the top
