awesome! we did it the other way around (clockwise) and we think this way is better, so we saved the best views for day 3 and had the more flat parts through the forest in the beginning. we had the best possible weather but it can get muddy. luxmore hut was pretty crowded. luxmore peak and the luxmore caves are pretty awesome too!

Very easy. Interesting because it moves through so many different types of scenery.

Great walk. Very sheltered. Lovely Bush with couple of nice views. Paths well maintained. Closer to 10km measured by Fitbit. Elevation gained approx 285m

the trail was easy to follow. but it's a long one. kind of never ending trail hahaha. but the view at the end was amazing. love it here. i wanna go again

easier than expected, an hour each way. super awesome walk! recomend it for a half day activity!

Beautiful, easy loop with a suspension bridge. About 30-40 minutes around. There are a lot of roots grown across the trail, so watch your step. Nice way to stretch your legs!

Recommend going up the steep side by Tekapo Springs takes about 20-30 mins and then you get to enjoy amazing views the rest of the more gradual way down about 1-1.5 hrs. Hike isn’t that tough and the views are amazing considering you don’t have to go that far. Did this walk about 10 times during lockdown and it never disappointed!

Very nice track. Easy for a walk. Nice wiew.

Nice hill run great views over Blenheim the valley and cook straight

Started in Anakiwa just as the first glimpse of dawn silhouetted the hills over the grove arm - cracking start! The trail started easy and average but quickly became a fast swooping smooth track in and out of the bush along the water and up on the hills - a fun track!

Found this trail today and was so nice! I ran it and was good because it was sheltered pretty much the whole way. Would recommend!

Perfect short morning or evening track. Inclined track with a scenic look out at the top

Walked one way and hitched back from Opua. You can jump on the ferry at Opua Marina and carry on route from Okiato into Russell - that is a full day track though. Known as The Full Circle. Paihia to Opua has to be walked over rocks to begin so check tide times. Avoid after heavy rainfall - clay mud and slippery in parts. Lookout points throughout the trail - beautiful

Beautiful views and had a swim in the bay to cool off afterwards. A lot of sun exposure so keep covered during sunny days. Plenty of steps

Rando hors du temps, incroyable. 4 h pénibles dans la forêt récompensées par 1h dans la vallée qui est juste magique, avec des dizaines et des dizaines de cascades de partout

Absolutely beautiful and nice and easy. Quite quiet at the moment which was also nice. I would try to go early as once the sun goes past the mountain you're walking in complete shade.

Nice easy short track, beautiful views of the lake

Awesome trail, challenging run/walk that took 45 mins. The first 10 mins are across farmland and then you hit the bush. Would be cautious after heavy rain as the track looks like it may slip about 3/4 of the way up at some stage in future. Take warm clothing for the way down in autumn/winter even if you’re running. Awesome views that are worth the effort.

Nice trail easy hike

One of the most amazing trails I’ve ever done! Definitely go early to avoid the crowds. 3 miles one way, with mountain, river, and lake views all the way to the end. It culminates at Hooker Lake, at the foot of Mt. Cook. Unbelievably gorgeous! Highly recommend.

The hike itself was amazing - the aerial views of the lake were out of this world! One of the prettiest hikes I've ever done. It got even better when we went off the (barely) beaten path, and worked our way down a gully to be on the rock beach of Lake Tekapo. The water was pretty cold! But there were all sorts of interesting rocks on the beach, and driftwood too. It's just incredible that there is this huge, gorgeous lake - and not a single house, boat, or person in sight! We had the entire beach to ourselves. We skipped rocks, took photos, and I even took my shoes off and waded in the water a bit. It was awesome to have it all to ourselves. We walked further to see the white bluffs - sheet rock cliffs at least 30 meters tall! Very pretty as well. After we climbed back up to the main track, we were able to see not only Lake Tekapo, but Lake Alexandrina as well - both surrounded by mountains. It was tough climbing back to the main track, as it was pretty steep and there were a lot of bushes with thorns, but totally worth it. Scenic views from up top all the way back to the car park. Traveled February 2016.

Nice easy loop trail.

Very nice view at the top! We had a lovely chat with the ranger at the top. Be careful, though - we got turned around and hiked down the wrong side of the mountain! Felt a bit sketchy, passing by some industrial buildings and not a soul around. We eventually reached a road and did come across some locals who were able to point out the way to us. We had to backtrack back to the other side once we reached the bottom. Needless to say it was a VERY long day for us, but we’ll never forget the time we climbed down the wrong side of a mountain. Traveled February 2016.

Steep in bits, but fairly easy after the initial uphill slog.
