Beautiful trail, bit of road walking but very quiet. Bumped into very few people

Epic AF!! Scrambled up in about an hour and forty minutes. Just in time to catch the view before it got too cloudy. The hike alone would have been worth it though. Lots of rock scrambling which is my jam. Was still really beautiful but would have loved more time with the view. Definitely recommend on a clear day.

Was a great hike, and very doable for a day trip on Stewart Island. It took me 7.5 hours to finish. Some beautiful views and a variated walk through forest, beach and coast line. Definately worth the effort.

I won’t say one of the best in NZ,it’s the best.and reach to the top to taste the glaciers is such a wonderful experience. But strongly recommend do it in a sunny day, don’t try to go to the top glaciers in a bad weather.the rock will be very slippery.

very beautifull hike, even for not so much experts! but a good weather is really necessary. half part of the hike is walking on big rocks where you can be afraid and fall if it s to much wet or rainy! i recommande this hike !!

Die it in 3 days. First and last day was ok, lot of forest. Track between luxmore and Iris burn is awesome!

Incredible setting for an easy hike. We took a picnic. Sand flies weren’t bad.

Did this hike up to mount luxamore and just stayed overnight in the luxamore hut for the night. The walk isn’t too tough with the first 5km nice and flat and the then goes up hill but it shaded most of the way but not too tough. The view at the top is amazing and just gets better and better as you keep going up (best bit after luxamore hut). Possible to do mount luxamore in a day if you head of early and fit. Also if you are quite fit and wanting to do whole track I don’t 4 days is need 3 is plenty also making it a bit cheaper as the huts are $130 per person per night and must book before in summer period.

Beautiful forest. Boring last 1.2km.
The total walk is at least 7.2km

Absolutely beautiful trail!! Wanted to do it but couldn’t get a hut, so three of us packed our tent and did the campsites. Definitely recommend going Brod Bay to Luxmore, as going Counter clockwise is a bit more gradual of an incline (still steep!). Once you get up, you stay high and it’s a stunning traverse over some great ridges. One of the best hikes I’ve ever done. The sand fly’s can be gnarly so bring bug spray! Easy to do in two nights.

Amazing 360 degree views at the top of Bluff Hill Lookout. You may drive up to this viewpoint or hike to it! The hike is better in my opinion. Well maintained trail, many benches to rest at along the way, and lots of shade from the trees. Although it can get insanely windy at Lookout Point or on top of Bluff Hill, I wouldn’t let the wind stop you from doing this walk.

As a one-day hike, great for those who want to discover the Kepler. 1 hour and a bit to go to brod bay, then with good fitness and good weather the distance to Luxmore hut can be divided by 2. Which makes it more a 2 to 3 hour climb to the hut (I did it in 2). The way up through the bush can be a bit boring but that is what it takes and the vegetation remains interesting. Once at the hut I really recommend keeping climbing up to Mount Luxmore. It is another hour / hour and a half but the 360 degrees view up there is wonderful !
In the end it is a good +-32 km track.
If you are scared of the distances don't forget that you can take the boat from Te anau to Brod bay campsite, which will save you around 10 k (but will cost you). Another option is to stay overnight camping at Brod bay (before the start of the track or at the end). In good weather, the place is lovely. You can swim in the lake and watch the sunset/sunrise on Lake Te Anau.

One of the best hikes I've ever done! Do not do in rainy or even wet conditions! About one third of the way is stone. After the black lake please do not return already! You can enjoy an incredible view up to Milford Sounds if it's not cloudy! But you need to go up the steepest part after black lake.

Absolutly beautiful hike, beautiful views at the top and along ridgeline and gorgeous scenery through the forest. Were lucky with the weather the whole time, so were able to have a nice refreshing swim in lake manpouri end day 3. we took our time and did 4 days :) absolutly loved it.

We enjoyed this hike very much, but we are experts! It is a challenging hike, lots of loose rocks and very steep. No shade, climbing up a little wall (there is a rope) and crossing water from the river.
It starts flat and easy and becomes challenging and steep. The views are nice, though there are peaks, that have the better view on the top.

It was truly amazing. I dit it in two days in clockwise.
First day only jungle. You follow a river and then a lake. But the second day was wonderful. During three hours you follow the mountains ridge with scenic views.
One of the great hike I have done

What better place to hike in a rainy day than in a rain forest?!? We couldn’t-get to the long fall, as it was too sloppy, but enjoyed the hike.

amazing view of the mountains and lakes.

A beautiful hike that starts through lash nature, forest and high grew Reed grass. After the first flat section it leads over to Rocky, steep and stoney path. It is a hike for experienced hikers, due to the Rocky path and steepness.
It takes 2 hours to go to the top for experienced hikers and up to 4 hours for avarage hikers. Also going down is tricky with all the rocks... Although, it is a beautiful hike. Worth every energy cell!!!

The trail is easy first half up, some over grown areas with grass that you need to wade through. Once you’re passed that then you have to cross a lot of loose gravel to get to the steep incline up. The trail isn’t well marked, looks like a few poles have fallen over but people have stacked some rocks so you can find your way. All worth the beautiful lake and view of the sound and ocean in the end!!
