Hard but rewarding. Rain and mist and cloud and sun greeted us on this trail. Recommend hiking boots for this one.

Excellent trail until the loop, existing track is degraded on edges and is next to a cliff. Wear long pants and boots and just walk straight to the beacon through the grass to the right.

Very beautiful walk deep in the bush. Would definitely do it again.

Nice walk with several up and down sections with fantastic views of blue/green water. Perfect for a picnic!

Don't take this lightly. After an easy walk to the cascade it changes dramatically. Was wet when we did it and was a lot of mud and slippery roots. zLakr was mystical with the clouds giving way to glorilus views then closing in again

Favorite great walj in New Zealand. We went from divide to Routeburn Shelter. From Lake Mackenzie to Routeburn Falls was absolutely stunning. Fantastic views all day long. Took in both the Key Summit and the Conical both worth the effort. Last day out to Routeburn Flats was fairly easy but less scenic

great views! very steep and easy walking path

moderate steady climb with fantastic views and a spectacular alpine pool. a lot of BANG for your effort.

Lovely track.
Great views and finish with a picnic at one of the many little bays

Nice easy little walk, cool detour to the Organ pipes which is a very unique collection of rock formations

Easy walk with lovely views

Not challenging. Nice and easy.

Light and easy track. Beautiful wood with shade. Suit for family. All signs are clear. But it will be cold in summer raining day. Even it was raining day, the track is not very muddy. I reached to Lake Marian look out, but no view could look out because all covered by cloud or fog. So sad....

Worth every step! Such an amazing view, breathtaking!
Even for mountain goats like we are! It took us 3 hours return from the gondola. But as I said, we are used to hike steep terrains.
We started after 9 am, which was good, because it wasn't crowded at all. Though while walking down, many people crossed our path.

A very nice hike, I was alone! so quiet and so beautiful view

Really rewarding but pretty challenging. Wear good runners and activewear.

Great hike!
I started from Greenstone car park and hiked the Caples track on day 1 and camped at the free campsite Greenstone saddle in order to complete the Routeburn the next day. With my backpack (tent, sleeping bag, food,...) without running I was able to complete the hike in 10 hours (with a good pace but took time for lunch and jumping in the river).

Stunning view at the top and nice way up in the forest.

First part of track is maintained well. But the last part of trail to summit is rocky and hard to climb up. However, all effort worthy it. The view on top of summit is stunning. The sign indicate 1hr 30 to Saddle and 2hr 30 to summit. I took 1hr from Gondola to saddle, but took me more than 2hr from Saddle to Summit. This track is challenging, as I am not a fit hiker. Even most part of trail is no shade, it’s still tolerable. The February sunshine in Queenstown is much more gentle then Adelaide. And the view is amazing, so no shade is not a big problem.
Then, be aware of the bird on top of summit. It’s very cute and very smart. He knew how to open zip and pick up my cash bag from my backpack and fly away.

Easy Walk we a amazing view.

the track itself is not very spectacular, and its pretty crowded for the sunrise!
But the view worth it! A stunning overview to the lake wanaka and all the mountains around!
def. recoment it!

Lovely relatively easy hike into a valley with a fantastic breath taking view of Rob Roys glacier and waterfalls. For the adventurous there is a bit more path, not as well discernable beyond the point where most people stop to soak up the stunning surroundings. I loved the abundance of yellow flowers. Definetly rewarding.

Nice hike with some pretty steep parts. i was happy to have my hiking pole with me. Nice views on beautifull days. Bring enough water.

Steep, not to easy but very rewarding hike. Doable in the dark with a decent head lamp or torch to enjoy either sunrise or sunset. one or two hiking poles help to give extra support. and take a windproof jacket, it can get windy at the top.
there is a toilet 5 minutes from the carpark and 30 minutes from the top, bring toiletpaper. there is no watersupply so mke sure you bring your own.

I did the sunset and it was beautifull. Enjoy.

Fantastic tramp. Personally I found the steep bit's challenging, both up and down, but one foot after the other and you get there.

We took 3 days, 2 nights - staying at The Falls Hut, and MacKenzie Hut. The lake here is very cold but after a long days walk is inviting: pure and clean. A great way to wash away the tiredness, sweat and dust.

First 5 K some of the most scenic so far. Distant mountain views over the paddocks Trail was in great shape and the history pf the steelite mining fascinating. The Bonnie Jean hut is a display of what the men lived in when the mine was active. you can only go in the door and look can't access 5he hut
