Views can’t be beat. One of the best hikes out there - don’t miss it.
great views! very steep and easy walking path
A very nice hike, I was alone! so quiet and so beautiful view
Easy Walk we a amazing view.
the track itself is not very spectacular, and its pretty crowded for the sunrise!
But the view worth it! A stunning overview to the lake wanaka and all the mountains around!
def. recoment it!
Lovely relatively easy hike into a valley with a fantastic breath taking view of Rob Roys glacier and waterfalls. For the adventurous there is a bit more path, not as well discernable beyond the point where most people stop to soak up the stunning surroundings. I loved the abundance of yellow flowers. Definetly rewarding.
Nice hike with some pretty steep parts. i was happy to have my hiking pole with me. Nice views on beautifull days. Bring enough water.
Steep, not to easy but very rewarding hike. Doable in the dark with a decent head lamp or torch to enjoy either sunrise or sunset. one or two hiking poles help to give extra support. and take a windproof jacket, it can get windy at the top.
there is a toilet 5 minutes from the carpark and 30 minutes from the top, bring toiletpaper. there is no watersupply so mke sure you bring your own.
I did the sunset and it was beautifull. Enjoy.
I would call this a moderate hike with some scrambling over rocks. It is a lot of uphill, with some muddy areas. But I am not complaining – it was the best hike I have ever done - so much bang for the buck! We drove after heavy rains that night, but our Toyota Camry was fine at the 7 fords - we angled our crossings to the shallower parts. The farmlands leading to the track were lovely – we watched sheep being herded far in the distance from high up on the trail. The views keep getting better and better until you can’t believe how beautiful it is at the top. Do not stop at the lower viewpoint. Go to the top. It’s worth it. Bring a liter of water per person and stop at Subway sandwiches in Wanaka for a trail lunch at the lower viewpoint. By the way, a reviewer mentioned dogs - no dogs allowed!
Fantastic walk, steep and challenging at times, took us just under 3 hours to get up and back down. Fantastic views. Highly recommend.
chemin très facile, si celle ci est difficile alors la Muller hut est extrêmement dure. elle est longue et pentue mais rien de dur. 2h30 pour la montée. vue magnifique
Would class this a little Hardy than easy in some places... Great views... Take lots of water and sun screen.
This trail is a bit brutal if the sun is out. There isn’t any shade and it’s about five miles of steep grade switch backs. However, do not give up! The payout is amazing, and I saw a few adorable sheep. Bring lots of water!
nice easy trail :)
Tour du lac facile et joli. Vous pouvez aller au point de vue sur Wanaka ou faire une boucle vers le haut mais ça monte et surtout il y a des escaliers donc si genoux douloureux c’est à éviter je pense.
Did it for sunrise, was amazing. Start walking around 2am and u will be up right in time. The way up is suitable for night walking and the beginning and end is harder but worth the view in the end.
Fun ride! Beautiful surroundings.
View at the top is insane
Steepest part is the first part-- once you get past that it's still challenging but not as tough
Une belle montée pour une vue magnifique !
Stunning walk. Amazing views all the way up of the valley and over Lake Hawea and on to Wanaka.
So hard but funking good
Great circuit, beautiful views of snowy mountain tops, clear rivers and nice forests. The gillespie pass has patches of snow at this time of year (end of December) no special gear is needed although consider it to be a good 1000 meter up and down in the second day. The start and the end of the track involves some river crossing. searching for good spots will lead you to find waist-deep water at most.
very nice, very steep
Quiet and track and a good alternative to Roy’s Peak but we only saw 2 or 3 other groups. Challenging without being too hard and with fantastic views at the top.
