Day 3 was my 21st birthday and I climbed MacKinnon Pass. Best day. Majestic mountains that show the best of Mother Nature in all her beauty.

This hike just moved past several gems in my completed list as a favorite hike. I really lucked out with weather. No rain, though the trail was wet and middle and many spots at the top especially. All manageable but difficult and I understand why this hike gets difficulty rating of hard: it can get steep, requires some climbing up steep rocks that require handling tree roots for stability. Extremely fun hike though. WATCH YOUR STEP, it’s easy to twist and ankle or a knee if you don’t give each step your undivided attention. As for the lake views, just wow. Had some low clouds and the lake stayed calm enough for mirror reflections. One of my favorite hikes all time. Oh and I forgot to mention, there are several waterfalls in the beginning!!

We went in March with Ultimate Hikes. The weather was perfect. The whole hike was unbelievable in its beauty between rainforest, mountains and the rivers. Getting to drink water the super clean water from the rivers was great. Day 3 is very tough.

The first part of the track through the waterfall is very open, easy, and well-kept. After that it gets a lot steeper and rockier, earning the “Hard” difficultly. The lake is absolutely gorgeous!! I recommend going earlier in the day rather than later so the sun hits the mountain in the background just the right way.

Where else can you walk 15 minutes and try out a walk wire. Pretty cool & had the place to ourselves.

This trail is great but you have to be aware that there is a fair bit of climbing and the roads have been washed down with the recent rains (mud slides and fallen trees) but this makes it for a fun hike ! Definitely worse your while on a blue sky day !

Amazing trail but difficult to get a spot in the hut unless you can plan way ahead and book the same day the booking opens.

Wow. Very memorable hike. Lots of rocks and roots under foot with some very steep sections but a lot of fun. Lake Marian at the end is simply stunning. We lucked out and the clouds parted right after we arrived so we could really see the peaks and mountains all around us. Gorgeous spot. Challenging hike.

A very nice walk up through beech forest. Some places are overgrown but it’s reasonably straight forward until you reach the bush line. This is where the official path finishes but I would definitely recommend making your way up through the tussock to the actual Scotts Basin up above, where there are great views and some really nice tarns.

not easy I definitely needed a good rest long before the end but the lake and mountains were so gorgeous at the end.

Personally didn't want to do Conical Hill after the first day on the trek up to Mackenzie lodge, but the rest of the trail will stay in my memory forever. I hiked alone most of the day, masses of wild flowers, incredible views of glaciers, just spectacular. one of the most enjoyable hikes of my life. the sun was out, not wild animals or snakes to watch for, sheer bliss after the day before.

Absolutely loved this hike!! Have always dreamt of doing this and loved every minute of it. What an experience. Hard when it rains heavily and your walking all day in wet boots but soooo worth it. Truly a great walk!!!!

Don't take this lightly. After an easy walk to the cascade it changes dramatically. Was wet when we did it and was a lot of mud and slippery roots. zLakr was mystical with the clouds giving way to glorilus views then closing in again
