Great nz Bush walk. Amazing Kauri

Very nice hiking track with hundreds of stairs, did with wife and 2.5yr son.

great trail, Nice view from high rocky cliffs & reefy shore below over vast blue ocean, then dropping down into shallow valley with a stream & enclosed bay perfect for a cooling swim carrying on uphill pretty much rest of way, took just over 4 hours there and back.

Decent hike - about 3 hours return. Has plenty of steep bits, and a lovely beach halfway to chill on.

easy enough. nice enjoyable track with great views.

The drive here from Auckland took almost 3 times longer than the hike. Beautifully maintained trail with many steps. Its uphill all the way, equivalent to almost climbing 100 floors. Great views, too!
Should be rated as Easy/Moderate if you only do the official track. Difficult if you try and climb up one of the pinnacles ( not advisable).

Great walk, beauty views. Smugglers cove is perfect for a chill.

Super pretty, I ran most of it.
Saturdays are a little too busy.
I'll probably hit it again during the week next time.

Amazing landscape!

Good for a small stop, nice view!

Fun short hike. Great views.

The 6 hours Twilight–Te Werahi Loop is amazing! Every kind of landscape, huge beaches, tropical forest, red rocks, sand, fields, swamp and there is nobody ! Only yourself to enjoy the beauty of nature !

Nice track - an easy hike filled with great views.

I love this hike. It has a great path, forestry, ocean views, but be ready for the lots and lots of steps.

What a lovely route... beautiful!!!!!

A hard hike up the top but views are worth it by far

An easy walk with shags nesting and feeding their demanding fledglings. A bit muddy in the wet.

Great easy walking, picturesque bush, river and waterfall

We have hiked to the Peach Cove hut each summer for the last three years. I’ve gotten progressively more unfit, so it’s gotten harder each time! But the track itself is great, in good condition and well maintained. We stay at the hut for a couple of nights so we are carrying our gear, food and water which makes it tough. It would be a much nicer walk without the packs! We love it and it’s a fantastic family holiday.

Great for a day with kids who can endure 3-4 hours (one way and return) on the trail. Muddy in places after rains, but it's not that bad. Very easy one way, if someone can pick you up at the other end. (There's easy car access and parking at both ends.) No toilets for 4 hours! Lots of birds around. Spectacular waterfall at Haruru Falls end. If you start at Haruru Falls, you can have lunch at Waitangi Grounds cafe, and go back the same way.

Personally, I died with an overnight tramping pack on and it was challenging with the stairs but I'm also not that particularly fit but managed to do it, besides that the trail itself was pretty and it was fun to do and listening to all the native birds.

Easy hike and stunning views of the harbour.
Slippery when wet down at the bottom walking up-hill through the bush, but push on through and especially once you get to the rock don't be put off by the steepness, use the chains and take your time, it is only a couple of minutes and the views are well worth the effort.

Beautiful walk which is easy enough for kids to do

Beautiful hike with stunning views! We are relatively experienced hikers and completed the track in exactly 1.5 hours, as is what the sign indicating the start of the track says. I reckon the distance is more towards 6km than the 8.2km in the description.

Beautiful hike! Just as said in previous reviews, hikers are rewarded with amazing views all around. The hike was 6km in total, 6.25km if you do the loop as well. We are relatively experience hikers and completed the track in 1.5 hours although the sign said 2 hours.

one of the best hikes in the Northland! A really good workout for an overall short distance. some steep inclines with steps but the views are awesome and you can see the bay side and the ocean side as you hike.

the beautiful hills and the colors of the water in the bay are amazing! trail is well-marked and maintained. I highly suggest this hike.

Afterwards, stop at WAINUI Bay and have a snack on the beach. sand beach, beautiful water and just a few people.

uphill hike to the famed Flagstaff on the hill overlooking Russell and the Bay of Islands. the first half of the hike is along the paved road and then it veers off to a trail with a fair number of steps. the view is very nice.

nice easy hike that runs past the falls and then cuts in front of the falls along a walk bridge at the base. taking the trail further you walk along the river and then into a Kauri forest where you can see a few very large Kauri trees. overall, it is a nice hike and quite easy.

Nice easy, some inclines, hike. The falls are very pretty. the hike beyond the falls follows the river and meanders through the bush.

Was actually 9.5km out and back. Good for running. Can start at the falls or at Waitangi.
