Good track easy to follow. The top by the observeratory is very touristy full of people that have driven up.

Really nice walk, reasonably steep throughout but a pretty short walk. great views at the top with a cafe as well

Pretty easy! Beautiful even during rainy days

Easy track, great views and a good spot for lunch at the end before heading back. Could hear the rumble of avalanches too.

Purely a 5 star rating for the view itself.. it’s just an amazing backdrop the whole track out.. easy walking but very heavily trafficked..

Super easy hike, just lots of people. Beautiful views of lakes and Mt cook plus the iceburgs floating.

This hike was a nice easy walk. Quite busy due to how easy the hike is. The scenery was amazing, with beautiful rivers and fun bridges. Took us about 2 hrs return. 100% recommend this hike.

good for beginners nice and flat scenery really kicks in about mid-way through the ride.

My husband and i did this hike in July of 2018. It had snowed the night before, so we encountered snow on the trail about 500 feet up. the trail was desolate and absolutely peaceful. the signage is really good and very descriptive, so you can't get lost. the view from the top was amazing. what an amazing place.

This trail MUST be the best effort to views ratio in all of New Zealand. My boyfriend and I had such a great time. very casual walk and everything was stunning. keep in mind though because it is so easy it is heavily trafficked. probably the most trafficked of any of the day hikes I did in New Zealand.

Definitely a nice walk, easy as it gets, beautiful lake views the whole way, swans here n there, quite cloudy and a little wet but didn’t take away the beauty, would recommend

Nice little evening hike (1.5 hours) going counter clockwise. Beautiful views of the lake and barely anyone else on the trail. Great way to leave the crowds of the town behind.

Nous l’avons fait ce matin sous la pluie et c’était tout de même vraiment spectaculaire! Très facile

Well maintained and well marked. Pretty easy but will take you about 3hrs rt. Bring sunscreen as most of the trail is exposed. Can get crowded when the tourists busses arrive but will thin out once you get to the first suspension bridge as the bus day trippers only go that far.

Such a great hike! We were a bit disappointed about the huge amount of people on the top, that drove up there...
But other than that awesome. Spectacular views not only on the top, also walking down and alongside the lake.

Easy great hike with stunning views. Trail is well maintained, accessible for nearly everyone.

Magnifique sentier avec une vue à couper le souffle

Very steep track compared to other ways up Mt Thomas but worth the push to the top

Beautiful view when the weather is good, already made it twice

Great hike and highly recommended! Easy and the payoff is high! Can get crowded.

Be careful of the gps directions here. I got there via Amberley and I’m unsure if the other way works. You can also walk up to the look out and the peak from the Lake Janet picnic area, which is a nice easy hike up and down in around 2 hours.

Steep walk at first but amazing views at the top. I walked along the ridge and down the wooded gully track and that was beautiful but a bit wet in places.

Very easy dirt path! We went as a family and it was LONG but easy. My mother has MS and we felt she could do this since it wasn’t a rough terrain. She kicked ass but there is ZERO shade on this trail. She had to take a lot of breaks, but anyone who knows about MS knows that’s inevitable. We did not make it to the end bc she was worried she wouldn’t make it back. We had a little chair for her to sit on for breaks but I think we could have easily transported a wheel chair with us. Someone would have to chart it on steps but I felt the rest of the path was generally possible for a wheelchair. Still amazing spots to stop at even though we didn’t make it to the very end. We turned around at the last bridge. If it wasn’t piercing sun, I thought she would have been able to finish it completely! Very fun and very family friendly.

Great day hike. Be cautious to stay on the trail when starting out. It isn’t hard to wander off onto farm roads if you aren’t paying attention.

Great trail with lovely views. The last 1/3 of the loop is unmarked - there's a fairly obvious trail for the most part but we did have to wade our way through the brush and weave back and forth over a barbed wire fence. I'd recommend doing it as an out and back to avoid this. Once you get to the spot where you are looking towards Arthur's Pass and can see a lake there is really nothing else great to see by continuing the loop.

Great hike. It was our first in New Zealand. Flat and moderately easy. Climate changes a bit while we were up there so bring some layers. LOTs of different scenery and the bridges are fun.

Easy hike and you get to see the glacier, Mount Cook, and icebergs floating in the lake. lots of people it really worth it
