Amazing views, a bit muddy in winter even on a sunny day... however TOTALLY worth it!

Part of Te Araroa, this section is known as the Richmond Trail. Nice views over Lake Tekapo. Best tramped south to north to fully enjoy the views of the mountains.

Great track, watch out for the sheep

Great views over the Waimak valley.

Do you love stairs? Great views. Lots of stairs. Picnic table at the lookout. Last 200 steps were snow covered so a good walking stick will serve you well in June.

Great work out! Fantastic views. Would call this one hard considering that once you leave the Southface Track poles become sporadic and the terrain is for some distance exposed steep, loose rock / scree. I feel it's best done from Sharplin Falls on the Staverley side. Be prepared for changing weather. May need crampons and ice axes in winter. In summer take sufficient water. Sun orchids along the track over Hooked Knob at the right time of the year.

Easy walk with amazing views along the way. 3 bridge crossings.

Cave stream is a water based cave walk. There are some waterfalls that can be difficult to climb if you’re alone. Stay safe and check for recent rain to ensure water levels aren’t too high/currents aren’t too strong.

It takes approximately an hour of wading through water. Usually the deepest point is ~1.3m, most of the cave is only 0.5m deep though.

This is a fun trail. Three suspension bridges, two lakes, a dozen waterfalls, and sideways rain.

Absolutely beautiful.

Well maintained track with LOADS of stairs! We hopped over the fence at the end to see the base of the falls. A good cardio workout and super pretty.

Challenging with a 360’ reward

Great flat trail , views are stunning. Lots of people, but with views like this it's easy to see why. Most people are friendly and polite. 3 suspension bridges to cross both ways, bring a lunch and water. Good for all levels!

We did this hike Feb 9th. Beautiful sunny day. Nice exercise as you traverse a total of 3 suspension bridges each way. Bring a lunch or snack to eat at picnic tables at the final lake site. Quite a lot of people use this trail, so be prepared.
We heard a couple of ice sections collapse up in the higher mountains. The steel grey glacier melt water is fantastic to see. Great little day hike!
