Great to watch the kayakers.

Beautiful trail. Definitely 'advanced', with some parts going over the ridgeline, and mostly single trail. Stunning views, definitely do it. Takes about 4.5 hours, plus stops.

The view was fantastic! Not 360 degrees as I had heard but beautiful anyways. The way up was good the first half but very muddy and slippery at some points to the top. Aslo quite challenging to the end.

It gets pretty steep toward the summit, but the views are worth it. The trail seems well maintained. The geothermal vents and crater lake along the way are also worth checking out.

Great hike! A lot of ups and downs, but the views are spectacular and the hot springs at the end is a real treat.

great easy hike.. only semi incline is the hike up the mountain which is optional.. we stopped at every point to learn about the history of this location and the views are fantastic.. worth every penny.

Great hike for a view of the valley! There were some very muddy sections, but nothing some hiking or trail running shoes can’t handle. We started at 10:45am. 55 min up to the peak and 35 minutes back to the carpark. We only saw a few other hikers on the trail but many more about to start when we were done.

Easy hike, nice view, but after have hiked a couple of other smaller mountains in the north island, then it's not that spectacular, but nice. From the carpark you can also access the trail to kerosene creek, which is a really great spot for some spa time!

Beautiful hike with great stops on the lake and at the end of the reward: Hot springs and swim in the refreshing lake at the same time. We were alone most of the time - hardly any other hikers on the way. We made the way back by water taxi.

Well maintained track.

Very nice trail:) impressive trees!

Excellent easy/moderate trail about 20 minutes outside of Rotorua. The trail is well marked and well maintained, with signage at the few branch points which are available for merging treks. No obstacles or scrambling at the time of our ascent, which took us maybe a little less than an hour. Views from the top are breathtaking. Highly recommended.

Beautiful track with the first 2/2,5hrs through the forest with crossing some rivers in the first hour. When you arrive at the river (mangorewa stream) you have two options, turn around and go back or follow the river bed (3/4hrs to carpark). Please be advised the river bed is only accessible if the water is low and can be very slippery.

Amazing thermal area, you really can get a feel for possibilities of how life started. Hike alone will run you about 45 nzd, well worth it in my opinion. Can take a bus back if you'd like.

Well maintained trail. They have added a new ridge trail, which is more of a moderate trail than an easy, and makes the whole thing a loop. Go past the end of the loop for another set of falls.

A nice and very clear track. No scrambling but a surprisingly consistent incline made for a fair challenge on the way up- typically, much faster coming down again. Lovely views of the region's many lakes from the top.

Great view. Trail in good shape.

Was a great little walk when it was free. Def rec having a look if happy to pay. I personally won’t. Trout, ducks, spring and dancing sand.

3.5 stars. Good uphill slog with some nice geothermal activity along the way. Views from top are big but were obscured by foliage. Road noise all the way up.

well signposted with varied terrain and some decent views. we went in early autumn and it was gorgeous but i can see how it could get challenging in winter when crossing the valley floor. Shouldnt be too much of a challenge for anyone of reasonable fitness.

Real easy track, but gives you more time to actually enjoy your surroundings. If ur lucky you can also catch some of the water rafting that happens there

Great hike! Loved the view! Although finding this place took me awhile as the car park looks like a working site with all those gravel.

this track is a roller-coaster! it was actually quite hard fr me. But I love the feeling it gives u when u complete it. A must try
