Ran part of this for the tarawera ultramarathon. Beautiful views! It really was an experience running through this scenery.

A moderately easy hike, not much incline, and mostly shaded. Not much in the way of views but lots of trees, ferns, and greenery. A nice way to get some mileage and enjoy the redwoods.

free hot pools. enjoy

Very nice track with great views.

Lulu and I just rode out and did the Tahai and dipper track at the redwoods. Bit scary been late and nobody around only had to back track twice . Did enjoy it.

Took my 7 year old son with me. We started on kids loop then onto trail. Perfect for giving your kids some motivation and encouragement in the name of fun!!! Highly recommended for beginners!!!

Hiked the short loop (the “red track”, Redwood Memorial Grove). It was only 1.2 miles, ~30 minutes. Beautiful trail. Easy for all levels.

Lovely walk. I would recommend it. If heading out to the falls, take bathers for a refreshing dip (water is quite chilly eve on a very hot day).

Nice simple walk. Would be better at the waterfall in non peak time as there was lots of people but still pleasant

Truly lovely walk. Would definitely do it again.

It was surreal. There are a few different places you can get in, and we found a nice spot at the end of the trail. We were smelly afterwards, but we would definitely do it again and bring overseas visitors here.

Had a pleasant summer afternoon hike here with the extended family. The hike was up and down with nothing too strenuous. A bit muddy in places. In the first 2km placards denoted some of the native bush. With the recent rains the waterfall was in full force. There was a swimming hole below the falls for those bold enough to brave the cold water. On the way back we saw a massive Rimu tree in the Eastern side of the loop trail.

Loved this walk. Great place for a swim

Very nice mountain. Not too hard and not too easy. Perfect for for training. Steep in parts but the view from the summit is worth the effort!

Absolutely loved this walk. One of my new favourite places! Just wish they would let me build a log cabin here..

Always great walking near a waterfall, listening to the roar. Parts of track could be a little slippery after rain. Need good runners/hiking shoes for this track. Well worth the effort - about an easy hour round trip with time for pics and sights.

Worth going. Nice hikes. Small place but very nice.

Awesome walk. As noted in other reviews check the tides as you come off the track onto otarawairere beach and access can be blocked by the tides. Definitely take your camera.

Great walk. Walk 2hrs either side of low tide. Take your camera.

There is an entrance fee of NZ$37.50 per adult for the hike. I repeat. You have to pay to hike. Screw that.

Nice very short hike to hot springs river and tiny waterfall. Had pretty steady stream of people. Great side trip on the way in or out of town. Right price as well (free).

Being from the midwest of The United States, this trail WAS challenging. A LOT of stairs. However, it was NON STOP beautiful sights! I highly recommend for tourists who want to see beautiful geothermal sights & sounds! Worth every step!

Great hike. We went up after the rains so a lot of water coming down the trail in places but that made it fun. The view from the trig station is awesome. Hung out up there for around 30 minutes and snacked, then made our way back down. Overall a fairly easy hike.

Awesome trail, good photo shots. Trail has lots of stairs as it’s steep in some areas.

We do this hike every time we visit NZ. It's straight down and back up but the waterfalls are beautiful and you get a nice misting which is awesome if it's a hot day.
