I regularly do this one from the Bethells side to the falls and back via the stream. A relatively easy walk that can be done in a morning leaving the afternon to do many other nearby activities. There are many stream crossings and at times it can be above the knees, though it is slow moving. A few deep pools allow a cool off dip too.
As at 12/18 this track is open.

Did the loop, quiet a bit more in and out of the stream then we realised but super fun!

We did a loop, starting from Goldie Bush Walkway, dropping us down into the stream where we crossed the stream via a suspension bridge. The trail then countoured up through kauri and fern forest. It then connected to the Mokoroa Falls Track. Then it goes downstream until it reaches a cliff lookout into the falls. We took the stairs down into the bottom of the falls. On the return, we followed Mokoroa Stream Route , crossing it several times, at times waist deep, and quite muddied at the entry and exit points along the stream. There is also a jumping spot into a large deep pool. Overall, a wonderful experience especially at the stream section with many swimming holes and cascade falls.

Get across stream 20 times and beautiful kauri forest

This track is currently closed due for upgrading due to Kauri die back.

Love this track! Well maintained, beautiful views and lots of lovely native bush and birds. Due to the number of stairs I would rate it as moderate, not easy.

Nice hike close to Auckland - beautiful waterfall area to stop and take a nice long break

suite for summer, not winter, because you have to across the water by barefoot, cold.

Be sure to take some good waterproof shoes! Worth the walk though :)

Beautiful hiking. Make sure u have appropriate gears because u need to go through the water quite a bit. But it is totally worth!

Quite a challenging track for me especially coming back to the car park. There were so many stair cases that I had to take a break since my legs are not that resilient. Otherwise enjoyed this track, I did enjoy the challenge too! I love the hanging bridge just after the car park and the walk to the waterfall is pretty easy. Although be aware to get to the waterfall you will need waterproof shoes if you don't want to get your shoes wet since I end up with soaked soggy socks, despite that the waterfall is so beautiful and also quite muddy as it comes with water areas.

Love this track! I suggest looping it to the right and then expect to cross the stream multiple times on the way back but you'll be going down steam that way. We did it in winter and it was still incredible! Greeted with multiple waterfalls!

Nice, but quite a small waterfall. The stream trail was very very very slippery, didn't really enjoy it. Better just stick to the main trail (25min 1 way) and enjoy the waterfall.
