Makes for a great long there-and-back trail run.

excellent, muddy but you will be in the stream most of the way anyway, so there is time tip wash your shoes;) Take shoes that can handle being under water and provide good grip on slippery wet rocks.

Great day hike. Be cautious to stay on the trail when starting out. It isn’t hard to wander off onto farm roads if you aren’t paying attention.

Breathtaking views. Walked it both ways with my 5 yo a few months ago. A full-day walk. Be careful to take plenty of water as there is none available on the track. Also, the bridge at the start of the walk on the Bethells Beach side has collapsed. The alternative route is via O’Neill beach but is subject to tide.

One of the most amazing walks I’ve been on, with many beautiful spots and some crazy adventures. Many parts though when we had to walk along/cross the river were particularly challenging after the light rain - particularly with my 5yo.

Great track! Definitely recommend. Limited carpark so be prepared to park down the road on roadside. If your lucky you’ll get to see eels in the water. Bottom of stairs where the falls are you are able to have a cute little sit down to enjoy a break, take in the views and those selfies.

I regularly do this one from the Bethells side to the falls and back via the stream. A relatively easy walk that can be done in a morning leaving the afternon to do many other nearby activities. There are many stream crossings and at times it can be above the knees, though it is slow moving. A few deep pools allow a cool off dip too.
As at 12/18 this track is open.

Great walk from Long Bay to Okura estuary and back. Good path all the way, great views of Whangaparoa and Rangitoto, breezy up on the tops but also some lovely sheltered bays for a break or a swim.

Did the loop, quiet a bit more in and out of the stream then we realised but super fun!

Nice moderate walk, lots of wildlife such as quails, pukekos, parrots etc. Amazing views! I enjoyed the small nature trail before the coastal track begins

We did a loop, starting from Goldie Bush Walkway, dropping us down into the stream where we crossed the stream via a suspension bridge. The trail then countoured up through kauri and fern forest. It then connected to the Mokoroa Falls Track. Then it goes downstream until it reaches a cliff lookout into the falls. We took the stairs down into the bottom of the falls. On the return, we followed Mokoroa Stream Route , crossing it several times, at times waist deep, and quite muddied at the entry and exit points along the stream. There is also a jumping spot into a large deep pool. Overall, a wonderful experience especially at the stream section with many swimming holes and cascade falls.

We have hiked the southside from Bethells Beach last Christmas and this time around, we opted from the northside, starting from Constable Rd. As expected, the trail is well defined, superbly maintained with gorgeous views all the way.

What a great hike! Great views of the beach from towering cliffs. Beautiful plants everywhere. Some parts are easy, some moderate, nothing difficult. Traffic on the trail was light, a few trail runners. It’s about 10K each way, so bring at least two liters of water and some snacks.

Completed the weekend of thanksgiving on a rainy day. Great hike. Beautiful coastal views. Finally found a reason to have hiking poles as it was really muddy on a rainy day and hard to get up a particularly narrow area. Actually did not complete full hike due to the mud. Saw lots of sheep and got some really cool photos. On the way back took the side route down to the beach and O’Neil Bay.. then cut over to Bethel beach. Great coffee and pastry food truck in parking lot of Bethels beach.

This was a challenge. But saying that the views of rolling cliffs along the coast was amazing, shame it’s not a circuit as you have to get back after. Would be a good idea to take two cars and leave one at the end. Best to do on a cooler day as the sun was strong when we went. Take plenty of water! Good hike!

Get across stream 20 times and beautiful kauri forest

Nice easy walk, access to quiet beach. Very picturesque

Quite a challenging track for me especially coming back to the car park. There were so many stair cases that I had to take a break since my legs are not that resilient. Otherwise enjoyed this track, I did enjoy the challenge too! I love the hanging bridge just after the car park and the walk to the waterfall is pretty easy. Although be aware to get to the waterfall you will need waterproof shoes if you don't want to get your shoes wet since I end up with soaked soggy socks, despite that the waterfall is so beautiful and also quite muddy as it comes with water areas.
