Not recommended on a rainy day unless you’re ready to be soaked. But lovely to see different parts of the city and explore.

Great for bird watching. Seeing the farm animals. Some parts muddy if it has rained recently. Mind the sheep poo. Beautiful Manukau Harbour views.

The views are amazing and it wasn’t too bad to get up there.

Nice lookout but sunset is hidden behind the forest.

OK part of it is paved. The unpaved portion through paddocks with sheep was interesting as it was so muddy after the rain. Probably much better when it is dried out.

Was a very pleasant walk, terrain is easy - I could see families doing parts of it without any trouble. For novice walkers and people wanting to get back into running etc if would be really good (only did the first 5 miles however so terrain may change beyond what I saw)

Good trail over all. Nice and flat and some nice views.

Great walk! Beautiful falls, lots of fun crossing back and forth across the creek, water was about knee high at worst (without falling over). Definitely recommend!

we did this in the winter, so we had to stick to the high tide route for some. would definitely take another attempt in the summer so we can set off later and stick to the coast. also: v slippy along the shore at points. watch your step.

Good run this morning, gravel trail only as the scenic is shut due to the Kauri Die back situation. Never the less enjoyed the run.

bridge out
closed

Having read the reviews from 2 months ago myself and 2 mates met this morning at 7am here. Ran approximately 200m to find bridge closed with wooden barrier and razor wire due to the Kauri Die back situation. Don’t waste your time.

cool

Theres no reason this has to be an out and back. if you want to see more/different scenery on the wau back, follow the road instead, basically what we did on this recording. anyway, both islands are dope. love it

Full track closed. but can still see the signal house track and view well worth it steep at times

Been here a few times and very well maintained, easy to walk, so close to city. Great diversity of species

The two volcanos and the area around the Quay are the only real highlights worth doing this trail for. Lots of walking through rather uninspiring residential areas. The parks and stuff are OK but I definitely did not feel like we needed to do the whole thing. I thought the signage was really lacking as well and it was super easy to get off track - admittedly, I wasn’t using AllTrails as a guide during the day... just a local map and the posted signs. Unless you are really eager to spend an entire day walking around, I’d skip this one.

A trail through working farm park. Some of it is via trails which go through active paddocks so can be muddy in wet conditions. Plenty of bird wildlife along foreshore and Mangere lagoon. Sleep, horses are part of this farm park which give a fun element for kids. Trail ideal for both walking or biking. Various linking paths are available outside Ambury Regional Park.

easy trail up to the summit and back. interesting landscape. good view of Auckland at the top

Nice bush walk to waterfalls near Piha beach. Was end of winter and still saw people swimming in the falls at the top. :O

Caught the ferry from Davenport and did the loop as shown on the map. I love simplicity and this is exactly what this hike is. So awesome to see the lava rock around the island too. Great views of AKL, the Waitakere ranges, and beyond.

Stunning little walk don't miss out the walk to the top of the falls.

rocky

An amazing hike away from the city of Auckland. The summit hike is the most popular on the island. There were a lot of good bird sightings, so bring binoculars if you have them. The volcanic rock can be tricky so make sure to watch your step. Gets steep toward the top and slippery as the terrain changes. The crater track at the top is also worth a look. It is incredible to imagine what the inside looked like at one time.

One of the best trails in Auckland. Done the loop, and it was all worth it. Lots of river crossing which made the trail a bit difficult (very slippery). Lastly, Mokoroa falls is stunning.

It was OK, summit had great view of Auckland City. Cave was interesting, but small. Great track to just get away.. Ferry is $36 return.. Last ferry is at 4pm on the weekend..

Nice walk, clean track with a good shade of trees. Make sure you are wearing good hiking boots as it's a lot of mud and uneven surface when you cross the stream plenty of times. The track involved some small rock climbing as well. Very beautiful places, especially among the stream.

Great walk and amazing views however it is mount Hobson not Dobson
