Somewhat boring, it’s very flat and is just a dirt road that goes back to a zip line place.

I live in El Centenario near this area. I would not call this a trail so much as a desert road. Very stark and would be a very long, hot slog most of the year. The "river" mentioned is an arroyo. Like most arroyos here it is dry 99 percent of the time and treacherous during thunderstorms. Also filled with sand and very tiresome to walk in. Lot's of beauty to be found in this area but I can't recommend this as a hike. No facilities or water, very limited emergency response.

Very flat and wide open. I suppose that’s why it’s rated easy

The trailhead is under an overpass. There were several carloads of sketchy-looking guys drinking beer out of paper bags and blasting their stereos under the bridge when we got there. (The cops came and rousted them as we were walking away up the canyon.) The trail itself is a wide, washed-out, muddy Jeep trail, covered in tire tracks and ruts. Honestly, it looked like it would have been pretty fun for off-roading, but it really wasn’t a good spot for hiking. So far, maybe two stars... But then there’s the trash: the whole trail is littered with beer cans, food wrappers, and broken bottles. My daughter and I kept waiting for it to get better with every turn, but we turned back after less than a mile.

Great trail! A little hard to find the vista but that’s ok.

I agree with Todd, a few more kilometres up there is a nice waterfall. About 3 kms past the zip line.

Recommend extending this hike to go another 3km upstream. We found a waterfall and very interesting geological features.

My husband and I have done this drive twice. the coastal views from the road are fantastic. This drive is for adventurers who want to get off the beaten path and away from all the chaos. The road is bumpy in places and ALL dirt. It was adequately maintained for travel in most vehicles. We will likely take this road on our next trip with my mother and brother next week.

Awesome drive along the lower east cape of Baja from San Jose Del Cabo to La Ribera that I've done a couple of times. The 1st was with my brother and a good friend and more than a few beers and a few fishing poles with a few stops along the way. The 2nd time was in 2010 with my wife. She didn't have as much fun because the road is all dirt and road maintenance in Mexico is usually done "manana" and that can be a day, week or a year depending on who's talking... The highlight with my wife was when she saw some burros eating out of a roadside garbage can and told me to stop. When I did 2 burros tried to stick their heads in her window at the same time. One succeeded while I was about to die laughing as she was yelling "drive, drive, drive". The burro manged to get her sandwich out of her lap but missed the beer... The last time through they had built a lot of little beach shaded palapas along the water. The map is outdated and doesn't show a new marina at La Ribera as well even since I made the drive last...
