I don’t know where this takes you but we had to go through multiple gates with guards and everyone thought we were trying to find the Esperanza hotel. Never found the trail.

Easy trail around the Lagunas with wonderful views. I have visited this place four times, this time with a friend on her first visit, we enjoyed a lot!

Turn off at the sign for aerodromo to park near a couple of old Airstream trailers. We made sure to check in with the family who lives here and ask permission before heading out on the trail. They were very gracious and their dogs even accompanied us for quite a while. Once we got started we spent most of the time following signs for what looked like a race that happened in the past. Watch for signs that say “Adultos” and/or “Infantil C” for the best trails. There are many options and it’s hard to get lost so don’t feel like you have to stick with our route.

I climbed the Pico de Orizaba on March 13 with a friend and an experienced guide. The trail starts from the hut and is sandy and rocky, you have to be very careful when walking especially in the Labyrinth. It took us 4 hours to get to where the glacier starts, we arrived just at sunrise with a wonderful landscape. There we put on crampons and we connected to the guide with a rope, each with an ice ax. The glacier is very steep and at this time of year it is crystallizing and there are many parts with slippery ice, this is the most difficult part of the ascent but it is worth the effort, the view from the crater and the summit in all directions is spectacular. Going down the glacier was more difficult and slower, and in some sections dangerous due to ice and cracks. This is one of the most difficult and tiring adventures I have ever done but with great satisfaction for having reached the summit and having contemplated an incredible landscape from the top of the highest mountain in Mexico.

A little up and down and steep at parts, but a really pretty hike with great places to stop and spend some time along the way. Is a little easy to get off the trail.

Recomiendo esta ruta por los maravillosos paisajes aunque es difícil vale mucho la pena.

Be careful. My friend and I got threatened by a guy with a knife. He wanted us to give him money. We had to give him 1 500 pesos. The view is nice but really not worth it.

easy trail for a great payoff took 10:00 PV water taxi and got to the falls by about 1:30

There is a lot of garbage along what could be an amazing trail. For me the trash was too much to allow enjoyment of the natural beauty which is present.

this was my first solo hike in Mexico. I dug it. gorgeous scenery, plenty of swim options and a few margarita stops along the way. only cons were that unfortunately, there was a lot of animal (I hope) scat on the trail, which made parts of the hike really smelly. also, I was asked for a money by some guy who claimed to have been removing rocks from the trail ahead...

Beautiful vistas. Bring bug spray

Drove from San Diego to attempt this hike only to find that it's in on the outskirts of town in a sketchy area. The only parking is on a dead end street with no visibility putting your car at risk. We decided to park on the highway and were immediately approached by the local police. They warned us that there is a high rate of break-ins and much criminal activity in the area. He made it clear that it was not a good idea to leave our car parked in that area.

This trail is full of trash and doesn’t offer much apart from desert shrubs.

Harder than anticipated due to the many hours spent above 5000m. You ascend to the knee and then go down and up a few more times to the south summit. The north summit and back will add another hour. When the altitude hit my body I got very sleepy for the strenuous descent. La Joya to north breast in 7 hours. Summit to La Joya in 5 hours. Go with a guide.

Lots of shade. It was dry when we hiked so some steep spots were a bit slippery with lose dirt and gravel.

AMAZING. I personally didn’t find this a hard trail but others in the group considered this an easy-moderate hike. Had a few snacks and plenty of water with us which we were glad we took, but also a restaurant you can stop at for a drink and snack/food (another gourmet restaurant also but believe it’s reservation only and it’s minimum $50 USD) along the way. Hiked the trail from boca to las animas beach. Unreal views of the water throughout the whole hike and we really took in the surroundings and local environment. Took our time throughout and stopped in for a drink at the restaurant “Maraika” before arriving at the beautiful white sand beach right after (called Los Caballos Beach). Swam for 45 minutes in the clear blue water before walking over to las Animas and catching a boat ride back (approx $20-50 pesos/person). Around a 1-3 hour day depending if you took your time or hiked straight through to the beach. HIGHLY recommend if you’re in the area. Lots of tourists we ran into who do it every time they’re in PV. (Also, bring bug spray! Never got a bite but also sprayed thoroughly with good quality bug spray)

Nice walk, short with some stairs. Go early in the day as there is very little shade and is very hot by 10am. Be prepared to pay 10 peso for washroom at the bottom.

Nice trail that takes you up to a great view of Cabo. Saw horses, cows, and a couple friendly stray dogs that followed us all the way down the hill.

150 peso fee to hike. A short walk on a downward slope to the waterfall. Bring your bathing suit and go for a dip in the cool water.

Wonderful trek along the river and becoming less populated the farther in. Sightings of domestic horses, cows and chickens with chicks and lots of noisy parrots and paraqueets in February. Rutted road and rocky in some places. We hiked in river sandals. The main bridge was taken out by a terrible flood late last year, a temporary footbridge is in it’s place.
