Muy buenas condiciones, solo en tramos de bajada resvaloso por la lluvia reciente pero toda una experiencia

It was really easy and fun, the trail is well marked and if you want more it connects you with other trails. Dogs are allowed

Easy trail around the Lagunas with wonderful views. I have visited this place four times, this time with a friend on her first visit, we enjoyed a lot!

In the vicinity, at the lake, there is nothing worth walking, due to private properties decending into the lake itself. Therefore, up in the hills we went. The Reserva Monte Alba gave us a nice alternative. Beware, there are many trails you can follow in this preservation. I admit we lost the exact one here on the app, but found a nice one: light blue indications, with a beautiful reward at the end: a nice vieuw on the lake.

Completed this Mar.7/20. Great acclimatization hike. We actually took a slightly shorter route by going out & back from Pico de Fraile, instead of doing a loop back to the trailhead. Found an air bnb experience hosted by Carlos, I was able to join. For only $75usd the price included transportation to & from CDMX, park entrance fees, mountain guides, all equipment needed, lunch, water, sports drink, & dinner at the end of the day at a restaurant on the way back! Amazing value, highly recommend. The only setback is a slow pace depending on your group.

Harder than anticipated due to the many hours spent above 5000m. You ascend to the knee and then go down and up a few more times to the south summit. The north summit and back will add another hour. When the altitude hit my body I got very sleepy for the strenuous descent. La Joya to north breast in 7 hours. Summit to La Joya in 5 hours. Go with a guide.

very good trail, perhaps a bit harder than rated. Great views, suggest aclimitization for two days in CDMX (~ 7,000 feet) and one more at the trail base (13,000). Then for those fit, up and back in 12-14 hours, or if a bit older and/or not as fit, there is a good place to overnight (shelter) or camp at a place called El Refugio, which is at about 15,500 feet and about 4-5 hours from the summit. Really beautiful trail ! Will meet some wonderful people along the way. Of course crampons required to get across about 1/2 kilometer of glacier, just before summit.

Not bad. It’s a beautiful the trail ends in a cool cascade where you can chill and go back, there’s a Hotel there which is not great and through the trial you can see houses. I’d do it again.

Nice trail. Beautiful views of two lakes and the surrounding mountains. We finished our 10km route in about 3 hours. There are several alternative trails that aren’t the official trail, but all are easy to find, and there are enough people walking around that you can always see where to go (you won’t get lost). Keep in mind the high altitude may affect you, so bring plenty of water and take breaks as needed. Oh, and the drive to get to the trailhead was about 1hr 20min on the entry road, and it was very ROUGH; unpaved, rocky, and difficult even for my 4WD Jeep. But it was fun all around and we may come back again!

Very exciting trail, difficult in some sections but with beautiful views. We started at 1am and we arrived to “La rodilla” (The Knee) just in time for the sunrise, this was a wonderful moment. Walking on the glacier, arrive to the summit and contemplate the landscape in all directions was an unforgettable experience.
