Did this route on summer. Started RV Park ‘El Refugio’. I paid 80 pesos to leave my car parked in there. Temperature was hitting 34 C. The trail is pretty much uphill. Some rocky areas. You do need some physical condition. The views on top are worth it. But make sure you bring lots of water.. especially in the summer. I brought around 6 Liters with me. There’s no shade. Awesome experience overall

Drove from San Diego to attempt this hike only to find that it's in on the outskirts of town in a sketchy area. The only parking is on a dead end street with no visibility putting your car at risk. We decided to park on the highway and were immediately approached by the local police. They warned us that there is a high rate of break-ins and much criminal activity in the area. He made it clear that it was not a good idea to leave our car parked in that area.

Not a trail!!! Not sure the person who reviewed before actually hiked this. It’s a dirt road with no views.

The coordinates put you in the middle of cow farms- NOT on a trail or anywhere near access to one.

Starts with steep trail and the rest is slow and steady inclination. Trekking poles would be useful as there's no scrambling or too much rocks in the way. November - February you may encounter snow on the way.

Great adventure. At mile 1 in both directions, you climb down the side of a box canyon. Very steep, sliding on behind with portions of rock climbing and rope assisted. Prob 400-500 feet of climbing/descending in 1/8 mile both at mile 1 and mile 3 into and out of canyon. For the strong and brave.
