Have done many miles of the App in PA back in the 90's in several trips. Can be rough going at times. A trail to be well geared for. Breathtaking vistas. Plenty of wildlife, just look out for mama bears with cubs. Some of the nicest hiking on the east coast. A bit of everything. Plenty of experience is suggested for this terrain.

One I've done several times. One of the most beautiful rides in the country. Gorgeous river & mountains. Plenty of nice places to stop, smell the roses, picnic & relax. Incredible in the fall. Road can be rough going in the winter if it hasn't been plowed yet. But it's still pretty with snow. Plenty of camping & local motels, since it really takes more than one day to see what it has to offer & take it all in. Plenty of trails & riverside walking. Good chances of seeing a moose or bear. Plenty of deer. Take plenty of pictures. Plenty of nearby attractions & parks. Some good fly fishing on the feeder streams if you're into trout. Local history.

Helps to have a map or a GPS. Nice walk, but it could have more to see for the distance. Some scrambling. Nice resting spots.

I've done it a couple of times. Nice trail. Rocky. Nice scrambles. Diverse. Not too hard. Keep a sharp eye out for snakes.. Pretty in winter, but be well prepared, I wouldn't recommend it for beginners. Footing isn't the best on ice.

Good trout fishing. Nice Fly fishing & hiking closer to the park south of Rte 25 to White's Pool. Good place for a kid to try for a trout. Nice park to spend an afternoon picnicking with the kids since it was redone. Canoe rentals nearby. Check local info for rates.

Nice hike. Several trails to choose from. Good for all skill levels. Plenty of wildlife. Herds of deer. Be careful of the bucks during rut, they're not too friendly. Good fishing if you should choose to do so. A good break from the mountains. Diverse conditions. One of Long Islands last large wooded parks
    & rivers. Permit required.

Have done most of this trip in segments over the past 25 years. Not for the ill-equipped or the novice. Have proper gear and be properly packed. Bring rain gear because the weather can turn sour from a beautiful day in no time at all. Can be very challenging at times, depending on the route you choose. Some incredible vistas & wildlife. Some serious climbs & rough going. It helps to be in some kind of decent physical shape with a strong heart.. For the most part, stay fed & hydrated.

Would be a lot nicer without all of the ticks. Nice place, but we had to cut it short due to the ticks.

Many trails. Miles of them. Trails can go from paved & manicured to open fields & thick woods. Some of the most diverse vegetation you'll find anywhere. A bird sanctuary. Beautiful greenhouses with many specimens of tropical vegetation. A mansion with guided tours. You can spend a whole day there.

Hiking there for over fifty years. A rainforest on Long Island. Beautiful place to be. Woods, streams & ponds. Wildlife. Huge Great Blue Herons & Egrets. Snapping Turtles. Swans. Can be very muddy. Aside from the loop there's an out & back for another mile with an optional return trail recently added. Old growth woods. Well maintained. Stay on the trail since it's surrounded by private property. It has been terribly beaten from the storms & hurricanes over the past 10 - 20 years. A nice bird watching platform had been completely destroyed & some of the geography has changed. The trails have been restored. Aside from the trails, the scenic backroad trip getting there is also quite enjoyable. You can take the causeway & see the other side of the lake you saw from the trail & the Mill Neck Creek which ends up in the Long Island Sound via Bayville Creek & Oyster Bay Harbor.
