e started our hike mid-day after checking into the range station the road to the trail head is a nice drive and snow free. I made a video of our hike, it shows conditions and what to expect, you can find it here: https://youtu.be/AZKL70HpL3M
The trail from the trail-head to Lunch Counter was very well marked both with a solid boot pack and with trail markers eventually we ended putting on our crampons for a short steep section and left them on until we arrived at lunch counter, I would say they are recommended but it can be completed without them. We set up camp at lunch Counter right at the base of Pikers Peak. There is still alot of snow at Lunch Counter however there are tons of spots that are snow free. We started our push up Pikers at around 3:30am there was clear skies and the snow was solid. we took our time going up and arrived at the summit around 8:30am. The trail was nice all the way to the base of the true summit where people took there own routes to the summit I would exercise caution in this section. overall It was a great hike with amazing views check out my experience at: https://youtu.be/AZKL70HpL3M

On April 1st through the 2nd I hiked the Ozette loop, I made it along the video along the way you can find it here: Cape Alava, Sand Point, Ozette Loop Hike 2018https://youtu.be/Y6Ep3_yVMdk From the trailhead at the Ozette Ranger Station I hiked South to Sand Point where we set up camp and then continued south along the beach towards Yellow Banks. I reached the southernmost cape before yellow banks and turned around due to a high tide and I didn’t want to go over the top. That night there was a few rain showers and then it cleared up. I got up early on Monday the 2nd low tide was at around 8:30 I made a quick hike to Cape Alava that morning with a beautiful sunrise and made it back to Sand Point just in time for breakfast. After Breakfast I just hung around Sand Point and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Shortly after dinner I Left for the vehicles and a long drive home. Again here is the video I made along the way: Cape Alava, Sand Point, Ozette Loop Hike 2018https://youtu.be/Y6Ep3_yVMdk
Overall it was an AMAZING hike there where only 2 trees over the boardwalk.

NW Adventures (youtube) reviewed Mount Si Trail

On March 10th a Friend and I climbed to the top of Mount Si. Here is a video i made along the way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0tvffyzSH8&t=3s We began hiking at 6:00am from the main trailhead, it was 29 degrees, clear skies and only a few cars in the parking lot. About 2ish miles up the trails we stopped and i put on my crampons, microspikes would have also worked a little while later we made it to the top of Mount Si through a near vertical scramble. I would only attempt this if you have crampons or an ice axe as it was a little hairy!! The cornices at the top weren't terrible but still stay away from the edge. We stayed at the top for a little bit took a few photos and then began working our way back down the views were incredible, not a cloud in the sky only a little windy. On the way down we encountered a TON of people we couldn't hike for more than one minute without seeing another group of people headed up the trail. We reached the trailhead around 11:00 and it was full. Again here is the video i took on the hike: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0tvffyzSH8&t=3s

On Sunday a friend and I climbed to the top of Mailbox Peak I made this video along the trail: https://youtu.be/NjPD0IV5a8M

We parked at the lower parking lot and at 6am we started our hike up the new trail the snow was patchy until mile 2ish where it turned into a solid snow pack. The trail was very well maintained and cleared I would recommend crampons but micro spikes work. We reached the top around 9:30am with clear skies and almost no wind. We headed down about 15 minutes later. We passed many people on the way down. We reached the trailhead at 12:00 only to find both parking lots where full and people where parking on the road. Check out the video I made about the hike: https://youtu.be/NjPD0IV5a8M

Overall it was a great hike with amazing views and weather. I suggest crampons for the steep sections and a early start to beat the people.

    Hex Mountain trail 1343

Our group of 5 began hiking around 10:45am on February 17th. to see a short video I put together on the hike with conditions click this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bppp_yM3yaM There was about 4inches of snow on the ground and still snowing there was a winter storm warning and high wind advisory. Also the yellow gate was closed preventing you from driving all the way to the trailhead so you had about a 1 3/4mile hike to the trailhead. Once we reached the trailhead there was one other hiker ahead of us. In about another mile the winds picked up severely I put on my face mask and gloves. About two miles above the trailhead we met the hiker who had turned around we put on our snowshoes as the snow was very deep but still the wind was the biggest difficultly. About 300ft from the summit and the whole hogs back ridge was extremely windy and was a sheet of ice. We were having trouble moving and getting tossed around by the wind, we estimate the wind was around 60mph. We reached the top of Hex Mountain around 3pm. Once we got back into the trees the wind died down a bit but was still severe. The rest of the hike was a easy down hill hike and we arrived at the vehicles around 6:15pm. Again if you would like to see footage of what the trail looks like click here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bppp_yM3yaM But overall the hike was fun. But I would recommend this to experienced hikers that have access to snow shoes or crampons and are very good with map and compass for there is no visible trail for 6 1/4 miles.
