Fun hike leading to terrific views of Estes park and RMNP. Includes some light bouldering. It's not a very busy hike, which suited us just fine. We used this hike to get acclimated to the elevation early in our trip before tackling some much longer and higher trails. Definitely recommend this trail. Don't forget to pay your $6 for the private park entrance.

Busy but rewarding little hike. Be sure to scramble up the cliffs just behind the lake for the full experience. You will be rewarded with extensive views in all directions at the top of the scramble.

One of the best hikes I have done. You get a little forest include with snow run off, then after about an hour you get nonstop views in most directions. We had a clear day so following the trail and finding the cairns was not a problem at all. The summit had plenty of space for hikers to spread out and relax without being on top of each other. We hung out for about an hour before heading back down. Started at 8:30am and got back to the car at 3:30 pm. One thing to know is my GPS put the summit at almost 5 miles from the Milner Pass trailhead, not the 4.1 miles I've seen posted around. We did not veer off the trail. And unfortunately did not see the sheep. But this is a must do in RMNP!

This is a challenging but terrific trail. We camped at the top one night in July. The weather was terrific and the site at the top was nice and protected from the wind.

Definitely watch your footing on the last mile. One of our group sprained his ankle coming down.

Great adventure hike with various views, forests, and falls to keep you entertained on the 5000ft journey up. The hike is challenging in intensity and duration. Make sure you have gloves and some upper body/grip strength for the cables. They take longer than you expect to ascend/descend.

To limit frustration either start in the morning darkness or plan to end in the evening darkness. This way you can avoid the congestion on the cables. The experience is much better when you can go at your pace and enjoy the views along the way. Also, refill your water at the river halfway up and down.

Ideally, next time I will get a wilderness permit and camp in the Little Yosemite Valley, before hiking up Half Dome early in the morning. Make sure to get your permits either in March, or in the daily lottery 48 hours in advance of the hike. Took us 3 tries to get the permits in the daily lottery.

The trail is pretty short and fun, but doing it at sunset should be required for any stay in Yosemite. Drive up to Glacier Point (2 miles) to check out the stars afterward.

Very cool and unique hike. Terrific views and a fun set of stairs to get to them. Be sure to drive to the meadows area afterward. Definitely worth it.

Very unique and extraordinary hike. Even we got rained on at the top and didn't have any views, it was a blast sneaking in early, climbing the stairs, and hanging out with the other randoms at the top for a while. Very cool.

One of my favorites! The hike is very entertaining, with various views and terrains along the way. The lake is like a little mountain-top oasis. We had the whole place to ourselves the last time we did the hike. It was great!

Easily one of the top five hikes I've ever done. The views are spectacular the entire time, and the scrambling at the end is a blast! Not for kids, even though I saw some parents dragging little ones along. Not safe.

Nice little hike with a reward at the end. First third is fairly exposed to the sun with the forest somewhat diseased, so wear sunscreen. Waterfall is great spot for lunch.

Nice hike for just about anyone to do. Did started at 4pm and had plenty of time to complete. For more adventure, scramble up the left side of the falls to the top of the plateau for big views and a chance to get to the river above.

This was more challenging than expected but with the variety of the changing terrain and views, it is definitely worth it. Scrambling at the lakes above is adventurous, giving this hike a little more flare.

Took the chance of starting around 2pm, hoping to avoid any pop up afternoon storms. It sprinkled a little on the way up, but by the time I hit the fork for the lake, the sun was coming out. Would have preferred starting this hike in the morning and staying at the lake for a few hours.

Saw multiple marmots playing around at close proximity.
