Zach Fehrman reviewed Blue Mountain Trail to Blue Mountain Lake Fire Tower

Intense hike. The trail is almost exclusively tree roots and boulders. Hiking this in the rain would be a very dangerous endeavor. The view from the top is almost unlike anything I have ever seen in the ADK. Complete 360 degree view from Fire Tower. There is another outlook near the radio tower as well as an observer cabin. Very tough but very worth it. We got there at 2pm on a beautiful Saturday and were the only ones on the summit.

Cliffs were pretty crowded but the view of Piseco Lake was spectacular. Steep trail and even though the distance is short, you will work to get to the top.

Ascending for the entire trail. Small cars and off-road incapable cars beware the road to get to the trailhead is narrow and extremely rugged in spots. View was great! Cabin has unfortunately been completely defiled but cool to see it nonetheless. Top of the fire tower is currently closed and is missing many sections of metal fencing on the stairs.

Zach Fehrman reviewed Esther Mountain via Marble Mountain Rd

This is the best way to hike both Whiteface and Esther. The parking for the ASRC trailhead is on the side of the road as indicated by looking at the GPS track. No registry. The first part of the hike is incredibly steep but is only 0.9 miles to get to the summit of Marble Mountain compared to 2.2 miles if you were to hike from the Wilmington Reservoir. The rest of the hike is very pleasant. The best part is when you get to the road and climb the giant boulders and ridgeline to the summit as drivers curiously watch on. Summit is filled with tourists and can be very annoying.

Trail is very well maintained. Short walk through a beautiful forest to see a unique Adirondack waterfall. The waterfall surprised me with the force of the rapids and how it was a gorge rather than a classic waterfall. Highly recommended as a stop on your way to the northern Adirondack region as the trailhead is right on the side of Route 8.

Ton of people. Well maintained with lots of places to go. Would recommend to families.

Steady incline the entire way up a boring road but the payoff is incredible with the abandoned hotel, fire tower, and overlook.

Absolutely incredible trail. I can't talk enough about it. Captivating views of the entire surrounding area from multiple vantage points. Climbing is extremely fun as well.
