Young Park reviewed Hidden Lake Overlook

did it on 7/28 as a break from long hikes between 27th and 29th.
It's very popular, short, easy trail.
    Lots of goats too.
It's up to you but, I do not see the point of driving yourself to Logan Pass visitor center and go through the parking war unless you are doing Highline trail.
If you are going to Logan Pass visitor center just for this, then take shuttle.
It's truly beautiful but again, not worth it to go through parking war just for this.
parking lot gets full by 8:00 am. but really, you want to be there by 7:30 to secure your spot.

Young Park reviewed Highline Trail to Granite Park

    did it on 7/26.
The BEST trail in entire park.
make sure to clime to Grinnell Glacier overlook from the 6.8 miles mark sign from Logan Pass Visitor Center. It's very steep 0.6 miles (more like 0.8) clime. once you get to the lookout, you will see people going to the very top of the rocks in distance and you make sure you do it too so that you will see not only the Grinnell Glacier but also 3 more lakes behind it. After that you can continue your way to Granite Park Chalet. you can buy cold gatorade and water there to refill and recharge.
You can also hike 4 miles to Loop trail head to catch shuttle service instead of going back to Logan Pass visitor center.
Again, this is a MUST trail you should do in park.

Young Park reviewed Avalanche Lake via the Trail of the Cedars

    did it on 7/26.
i was able to find a parking spot in 7:30 am, but you want to be there earlier than that beside taking shuttle bus from Apgar visitor center.
Think this is better trail to do in early morning so you will see sunlight's partially shining down the lake and that is a wonder to experience.
after that follow the trail til the very end to the 'beaches' area for different side of lake and it's much less crowded since most of people stay in the main side of lake.

Young Park reviewed Dawson Pass and Pitamakan Pass Loop

Started at 8:00 am and finished it around 5:00 pm including a long break at pitamakan lookout.
I've heard about an option of using boat to cross the lake but my stupid ego didn't let me.
I did it counter clockwise (from pitamakan to dawson) and recommend it. Yes elevation gain is tough but it's doable. It isn't as dramatic as it sounds. For some reason, dawson pass looked more difficult for gaining elevation in my opinion.
The view is spectacular and very worth it.
bring plenty of water and bug spray.
wear long pants for potential poison ivy since you go through in forest for good miles.
I wore shorts and didn't get poison ivy but there were lots of suspicious ones.

    Great trail.
I had to form a group with other hikers because a bear was walking on a trail just like humans without a joke. I'm assuming it was due to families brought lots of food and had them at shelters along the way.
other than that views were spectacular and you do not want to miss them at the end.

Young Park reviewed Alum Cave Trail to Mount LeConte

    Awesome trail.
make sure to bring proper hiking shoes and socks. there are many view points throughout the trail for photos. It's really 11 miles round trip rather than 10. If you want to spend a night or two at LeConte Lodge, then reservation is needed. I finished the whole thing in 6 and 1/2 hours including about an hour break at the Lodge and cliff top. Do enjoy !
