12/10/16: Adventure pass needed. No permit needed for the hike; however, if you're backpacking then you'll need a permit. A few steps in and you'll see a box requiring you to fill out your info for visitor tracking purposes. The parking lot is on your right hand side and across the street from a candy store. The parking lot is a good size so don't need to worry about getting a spot. Behind the store to the right is the head of the trail. The trail is partially maintained and still visible; although it can be easy to lose your way. Wear pants and long sleeves because there are a lot of brush. At each split in the trail there are signs guiding you to the peak. Trekking poles are helpful especially the last mile before the peak which is where the scrambling comes starts. If you collapse your trekking poles it's helpful for scrambling or use your hands. White ribbons are tied to the bushes to help guide your way. The sitton peak sign is missing. Views are amazing and rewarding.

11/20/16- Short hike and good incline - no trekking poles needed. No adventure pass needed because the trail is before the Angeles National Forest. Parking is limited so get there early. There is a sign for mountain lion sightings so be mindful while your hiking, even though this is a popular trail.

11/14/16- about 12 miles and it took me 6.5 hours; finishing right before the sunset. Adventure pass required and self service permit for the trail is at the head of the trail. If there are no more permits, you can leave your info on a scratch paper and leave it in the box. I recommend to come on a weekday because of limited parking. If coming on a weekend come extra early in order to get parking. The trail after the saddle is very narrow, very rocky, and steep drop offs. Sometimes the trail looks like it dead ends but if you look beyond you'll see that it continues. I don't recommend to do this hike when there's snow. I also recommend using a gps to help track your route because there are no signs after the saddle and the trail does split. There is one sign when you're almost to the peak and that's it. At one point on the trail there is a cave/den that could belong to a bear or animal - be mindful when you're walking past it. As I walked passed it I didn't see anything inside but you never know.

Short walk to the waterfall. You can continue onto the trail for a much further hike to the top of the ski lifts.

10/1/16- Adventure pass required. The parking lot is on your left hand side. Come early because parking fills up quickly. A good portion of the trail is shaded. Hiking poles not required but are helpful. Some of the inclines are steep but it's mainly a steady incline throughout the trail. It took me 2.5 hours to get to the top and 2 hours to get down. As for the crowd, once everyone gets started and going at their own pace it'll feel like a lightly trafficked trail. I typically take an ibuprofen prior to my hikes to prevent getting sick from the altitude.
