Nice easy hike...just one hill of switchbacks at middle falls. My favorite is the upper falls, wow. Beautiful pool with great rocks to sit on...and jump off of. Freezing water of course, but worth a quick dip!!

I started at the Cultus Lake trailhead for the Winopee Lake trail. Beautiful spots along the trail to jump into Cultus lake. Trail is dense forest and very dusty. I turned off of the Winopee lakes trial to go to Teddy Lakes. I did not track it but guess it was about 9 miles out and back. I highly recommend Teddy Lakes. Beautiful secluded lake. Train ends but about 300 feet east along the lake is a site all prepped for backpacking. Awesome swim!!!

Loved this trail. Mostly on lava rock so good soles needed. Hiking sandals are great as you will want to get your feet wet as you pass many secluded beaches. Great hidden pools in the lava rock cliffs, best is just below the light beacon. Bring water...mostly exposed and hot.

Great nearly 10miler. Beautiful terrain all the way with plenty of variation. Moderately intense up; then up and down along the ridge-line to the butte. Viewpoints with stunning vistas of the Applegate lake and the Red Buttes wilderness. Definitely one of the hikes you want to do in southern OR. Option to jump in the lake after the long hike as the trailhead is down at the lake and next to a park. Only buggy area is at the trailhead and the first mile. After that, you are in the clear.

Awesome trail following the lakeshore. Beautiful outlooks and numerous spots to jump in the lake to cool off in the hot summer months. Very peaceful. It is one of my favorites for trail running when you dont want intense hills (though there are plenty of hill options to go off on). My dog loves it too...of course she gets to swim a lot!! Very little foot/bike traffic.
