Good trail with some moderately steep sections to deal with (towards the end, you run perpendicular with the elevation making for a good leg workout). Good views and decent traffic on a Saturday afternoon. We did the Cherokee Ridge Alpine Loop Trail, and will be back soon for the others.

Easy hike (stroll?) with little elevation changes. This is a great loop for someone just wanting to take a walk a get some exercise. Well maintained path with little traffic.

Great place to come for people of all ages. The trail to the fire tower is moderately steep in some sections, but is an easy fun approach to a 100-ft. fire tower on top of one of the highest elevations around Lake Martin. Views are great to say the least. Island Hop trail is a fun one to do when the water is down, and the Little Smith Mountain trail offers great views, second only to the fire tower itself. All-in-all, a great trail system, and many thanks to CRATA

Fun trail with good views of Lake Martin and Chimney Rock. The trail is moderate with some fairly steep sections. Just over 4 miles including the walk to and from the parking lot. Trail is well-marked, but the fallen pine straw made for some slippery conditions. The best views are on the second half of the hike, and there are a few good spots to stop and relax on some boulders. Will definitely be returning soon.
